Oh man that's the one!!
How do you like your silver sky?
I love it. Feels very nice to play. Sounds really good unplugged and plugged in. Low maintenance. Neck feels great. How do you like your silver sky?
No this is a 1980 SA-550. It's fully hollow. One of the "lower-end" models back then but its fantastic in every way.Oh man that's the one!!
Is that a SA64?
I have been GASing for one of those forever!
Mine is fast becoming my favorite.I love it. Feels very nice to play. Sounds really good unplugged and plugged in. Low maintenance. Neck feels great.
Almost samesies! Mine is surf green or whatever the hell they call it. Plus it's a bit of a frankenstein, I did the blender mod (knobs are volume, master tone, and a blend pot which blends in the bridge pickup when using the neck pickup, and vice versa) plus added the JTEX Axtivator which is a unity buffer and toggleable boost or treble boost (in my setup). That's also why the volume knob looks different, the old one doesn't fit on the new smooth shaft. I really like how petite the switch ended up being, although if you were trying to switch it on the fly it would be tricky. I need to see if I can find a cream coloured volume knob to match the others that fits a smooth shaft pot.
Does it sound like a strat and why would someone buy a strat over this and vice versa? I’m just curious, I’ve never played one.I love it. Feels very nice to play. Sounds really good unplugged and plugged in. Low maintenance. Neck feels great.
It sounds like a Strat. I think someone would buy this over a Fender Stratocaster for the same reasons people buy other Stratocaster copies from other companies.Does it sound like a strat and why would someone buy a strat over this and vice versa? I’m just curious, I’ve never played one.
That sounds killer. I’d like to try one. I like the way my PRS Santana feels. It sounds like a Strat. I think someone would buy this over a Fender Stratocaster for the same reasons people buy other Stratocaster copies from other companies.
For me, how it feels to play is a big reason, in addition to the build quality.
I never took to Strats until this one.
Personally, I view it as a Custom Shop 1964 Fender Stratocaster (it is based off of a few 63-64s).
Santana's are really cool! I was really surprised how small the body is.That sounds killer. I’d like to try one. I like the way my PRS Santana feels.
Yep. I put a Burstbucker 2&3 in mine, it sounds amazing. The stock pickups, IMHO, sounded flat, which seems to be part of the Santana sound.Santana's are really cool! I was really surprised how small the body is.
