I’m looking forward to a total redesign of my board. I only started building about nine months ago – I started with a 10 loop switcher and quickly filled that up with pedals I built so I built another 7 loop switcher and filled that up as well. (for whatever reason, I have a hard time taking pedals I have built off the board). Now there are about 23 pedals occupying 17 loops (some are two in one builds, others I have daisychained similar effects to use a single loop).

But it’s time to rethink and consolidate. Since I am a big fan of treble boosters and they take up about five of my loops, I have built my own strap-mounted treble booster and all of those pedals will come off the board to make room for new 2024 builds. In addition, the BBW at the end of my chain (which I almost never use) is going to be replaced by a Clandestine preamp and then I’m going to put a Little Black Buffer at the very end of the chain under the board (I already have two or three other buffers in the chain but one can never have too many buffers with this many pedals).

Lastly, I currently have my amp and board on smart plugs so that I can just tell Alexa to turn them on and off. I’m currently adding a second power supply and I’m gonna run it all to a smart surge protector so I can also control my separate Amplitube and FRFR speakers via Alexa. (With this unnecessarily large pedalboard taking up space, it’s just too big of a hassle to lean dangerously over it to reach the on/off switches for my audio interface and speakers).

So, yeah… Kind of a lot going on for 2024.

That is some impressive WTF? breadboarding you have going on there. Presumably discrete projects, but maybe.... modules?
That’s a whole loaf of breadboards
The rest are in a big plastic bin stacked in cardboard drink trays. Many are just "what would happen if I..." others are built from drawings I've seen here or around the web. Most need work :ROFLMAO:

Lots to be excited about! I’m excited to learn how to build and tweak circuits based on schematics, learn about DSP, build an Arduino synth, finish the many PCBs I have, create lots of box graphics, and learn how to use CAD software to design my own enclosures and knobs. I’ll be lucky if I finish half of these projects in the next year, but it’s fun to make effects precisely due to the depth and complexity of subjects you can learn.

Upcoming projects here...

Pedal related - I'm hoping to finish up one or two amps this next year - and get my own Big Muff variant finished up - maybe in a high gain / low gain version...

Non-pedal/electronics - My son and his friends are big into Warhammer 40K at this point, so I'm going to dig out the brushes and glue and build and paint with him in solidarity...

Otherwise - we may be moving closer to town this next year... so that's going to be a "project" in of itself!

I have a big project that I'm really looking forward to coming up for early-mid 2024.

I'm going to build an initial run of 20 pedals for a fairly prominent Chicago punk band with custom artwork based on their logo and colors and it's going to be named after one of their older songs. All of the profit is going to go to a charity that we decide on, and we're hoping for at least $1,000 or more out of the first run depending on the price and component cost of the circuit we end up choosing. I've made a few variations of the Guv'nor (one ended up being almost exactly the Crunch Box without realizing it, ha) and I'm working on something that would be close to a high-gain Marshall, punk rock, driving sound.

I've already got a few prototypes put together and when I'm happy with a few, I'll then take it up to the band for them to decide which they like, then we'll do the artwork, and start production, social media outreach, etc. They're excited about it, I'm stoked that they are up for it, and can't wait to see how much we can make for the local charities!!

@fig, I started building pedals because I really want to build tube amps. I figured pedals would be a good and safe way to get my feet wet. I didn't really consider that I would actually learn a lot about circuits building pedals but it has been a huge bump in my circuit understanding.. so much so, I'm ready to begin my first amp build. I recently purchased a PCB from Headfirst amps to build a 2204 and while I was waiting, Mojotone put their kits on sale for the first time that I have seen.. so I purchased their 50 watt vintage kit to start with since it comes with all the parts. Then I'm going to build the Headfirst. I'll probably play the mojotone a bit stock and then mod it. Building pedals has given me the knowledge and confidence to take this on.. BTW, you are awesome for doing these things all the time (y)

As I was sayin' . . . . I'm kinda excited about getting into 'all things wah' and ent thru my boxes of 'wah stuff'. Wow! I wasn't aware I actually have 5 brand new empty wah shell kits. On the far left is a fully operational Cry Baby GCB95 and next to it, one that needs repair. Over a dozen inductors and about ½ dozen custom inductors (with a few custom winds from Joe Gagan). There's a Roto-Vibe board that needs attention, a complete set of guts from a Fuzz-Wah, several different gears & special wah-taper pots, a new & populated Dunlop Cry Baby board ready to drop-in, A Harbinger 2.0 to build out, enough PCBs and special dual-gang 10K pots to do a few Parapedal Wahs, an Ernie Ball volume pedal to convert and an old working Morley wah to futz with. So, yeah, I'ma be busy.

I'm excited to work on my pedalboard. I've decided I want more seriously pursue music as a career. Up to this point I've been just building pedals that sound fun. Now I want to build pedals that are reliable and assemble a "pro" gigging board.

On the list is vigilante398's tube buffer and nobelium, a dizzy tone fuzz (I just finished a stripboard version that sounds great), and either a bass klon or pork loin overdrive. I think I'm going to put smart switching into all the pedals I can.

I've drawn up all matching enclosures and have everything laid out. I think I plan to go the whole nine yards and do a full custom cabling job. I really want my board to be a serious piece of equipment.

A lot of good decisions going on here. Though I admittedly have no experience with the pork loin or buffy.
