I got this used for $250 on Facebook marketplace which was lucky. They go anywhere on ebay or aliexpress from $500-$1000ish. I am going to keep this a budget build.How much did you pay for this if you dont mind me asking.

Many of those AliExpress carbon frames are what's called "open mold" frames, meaning that no one owns the mold designs used to make them so anyone is free to use the mold to manufacture a frame. Some of these are quite decent and go for good prices, and I'm sure some well-known brand is using the same one (definitely does look like that Canyon). Nice haul, enjoy it! I think it would look nice polished. There are some places that will do custom paint on frames like that too, although this may cost more than what you paid for the frame!
What are you thinking for spec?

Interesting, I did not know about open mold frames. I wondered why frames across different manufacturers looked the same.
I am hoping to keep costs down for spec. I am going for a LTWOO RX 2x12 groupset with hydraulic disc brakes. I have a carbon steel 50/32 crank on order and a 11-28 flywheel coming. Carbon wheels are also on the way. Thinking Contis for tires. I debated whether I would do electronic shifting and it seemed like a pain.
Not in the mail, but I’m thinking close enough for this thread.
My brother got me a gift for my birthday, which I must say is very thoughtful. He’s also a musician and has built his own guitars and drum shells. He knows I build pedals, I gave him a ppcb Park And Ride a while back.
So he hands me this box. Then says “I have a screwdriver if you want to build it now!” to which I said “Would you mind if I just kept it mint and unopened?”.

Sounds like a good plan, I've heard decent things about those LTWOO groupsets. Conti makes a nice tire, I've been riding the same pair of Gatorskin 28s for like three seasons and they look just a bit worse for wear. I've also got a new custom build on the way and I have been breaking my brain trying to decide on a spec for it. I wanted to go electronic as well but the problem there is a) the cost (especially since I want a 2x) and b) if you're not riding SRAM you're doing it wrong, I found a good deal on a whole kit of 105 Di2 but could not reconcile the way Shimano does batteries and derailleur connectivity. As long as everything is wireless (like SRAM does it) the setup is actually super easy and the performance is apparently incredible.

Well I wasn't sure if I should post this in whats for dinner or the mailbox, lol....
My 60"x30" stainless steel worktable does not play well with with dough and a rolling pin, even with a good dusting of flour it sticks like CRAZY. This makes it undesirable for cheese-bread, cinnamon rolls and other wonderful stuff since you need to roll it out nice and thin, then cover with the filling, then roll it up and either pan it, or cut into individual rolls and put on a baking sheet.
I've had a $500 butcher block table in my watched list in eBay and clicked on it only to see in related items a GLOBAL Boos block table top at around $360. Then I thought I'd go directly to Global and see what their price was instead of buying from a drop shipper.
Well howdy! How about a 48"x24"x1.75" side grain boos block table top for $167.96? List price is $415.20 on the Boos site!
I'm just gonna stick a bunch of those little self sticking silicone feet on the bottom and throw it on the SS table when I need it. It's about 45 pounds so it should be very immobile.....

Picked this up today. Guy i got it from didnt really kniw what it was. Sounded fantastic price was right so i brought it home.
Its a howerton amp build. 5f6a build as far as i can tell. In a musicman chassis/cab. Breaks up real nice. Cool amp, will hang on to this one.

I am sure you know LTWOO also makes an electronic shifting groupset. I am on the fence about it; I don't bike competitively so while it would be nice to have I don't need it either.

I have an endgrain cutting board from a high end store here in Krakow. Nice and thick. That thing drinks mineral oil like its life depends on it. When I went to buy it this nice girl told me they had a sale on cutting boards that day and I got a good chunk of the price off. Unadvertised sale? I don't think so. It must've been my charming eyes haha

Indeed. And I totally agree, same thoughts here too. Spoke to a family member over Thanksgiving dinner who just started on electronic and raves about it, as does everyone else. If the price is right, I'd say it's worth a shot?

I'm still sort of pinching myself that I got this so cheap!
I was going to wait till next year and take some funds out of the retirement account (I have to watch how much I take out every year or I have to pay income tax on it), but this was low enough to just buy it now.
Boos has a very large product list, and has been making kitchen equipment since 1887. It's a bit of a status symbol to own. Especially if you can afford the 10" thick blocks, which I will never buy, lol. I'm more concerned about function.
I've bought other end grain boards before and the VICIOUS Santa Anna winds we get here in SoCal ate them. When the humidity gets down to 4% for months at a time it can do terrible things to wood. I've never had any problems with my now 20 year old 2.25" thick 20"x15" block. Most of the time we only get that really low humidity for a week or so, but some years it's all winter and spring long.
I buy organic bees wax, and put some into mineral oil and put into the microwave a minute at a time and stir in between heating till the beeswax gets incorporated into the oil. It's pretty fast. After that it's the exact same thing as the boos block mystery oil. I use one that is fairly liquid, and then a few times a year I use one that I formulate to a gel-like thickness.
This keeps it from sucking up as much, and gives it a nice sheen in between oilings.

Ceriatone SSS 50 amp kit came. I got sweaty just getting it unpacked lol. I ordered the everything kit minus tubes and added the head cab as well.
First impression of the transformers is they are ridiculously girthy.
The chassis kind of fits on my ‘fireside’ bench hah.
I’m going to take my time with this one. I ordered 50ft rolls of all the 22 gauge Weico top coat pre-tinned colors, and red and black of the 18 gauge version for the heaters. I also have some electrical grade silicon adhesive, and loctite red coming. I have a roll of 18 gauge tinned copper bus wire already. I have various diameters of clear heat shrink (and black too). Cable ties. . .
Am I missing anything? I saw one YouTube dude putting drops of Deoxit 100 on the tube socket contacts?
