Current Tayda fees after new tariff?

As a recent joiner of this hobby, I've heard lots of good things about Tayda but I've never ordered from them because the shipping and tariffs have been astronomical. I'm bummed I missed out on it before things went sideways, especially because they have the best range of colors for enclosures that I've found so far.
If you need to order three capacitors you forgot you needed, it might be cheaper at this point to order from a domestic supplier where you'll usually pay more for parts but less in shipping.

If you need to order all of the parts for multiple pedal builds at once like I generally try to do with Tayda orders, they're still the cheapest.

Even if you do some careful shopping and think you're saving some money, if you need to order the same parts from three suppliers instead of one, the multiple rounds of shipping will add up.

Practically of these parts are made in China. No pedal part I've ever bought is made in the US. Either I'm paying a tariff to import the parts, or Mouser is paying it, then marking it up when they resell to me. There's no free lunch.

Tayda has earned my loyalty. We talk a lot about them being cheap, but they're also fast, accurate, efficient, have remarkable customer service, the best website, and the best packaging by a mile. They're also focused on serving my niche hobby, and seem to have constantly made improvements over a period where most other businesses I deal with seem to be stagnant or getting worse.

About a month ago I ordered 5 pedals worth of components (caps, resistors, etc, not the pots, jacks, knobs, etc) plus some spares and when I compared mouser to Tayda, it was still cheaper to get Mouser than Tayda. If I remember correctly, shipping was pretty close to or more than the parts themselves and I just couldn't bring myself to order from them. Perhaps if I ordered everything (pots, jacks, etc) as well as the electrical components it would make sense. I'll have to look into it next time I do a big-ish order.

Just curious how many parts on average does one have to order for a Tayda order to be so high? Did you order a lot of enclosures? I remember my last order from there was $70 and has like 500 items. Almost felt like I was shopping for free. 😂
Pretty much all enclosures. They do such a nice job with them.

Here's another data point:
I just placed an order for 10 enclosures (larger ones, mostly BBS and XX), including drilling on 3 enclosures.
I usually do my own drilling, but the ones I'm having drilled are for 3 XX-size Lovetone modulation projects with 20+ holes per box, so the drilling is worth it to me.

Total for the product and service = $119. Shipping and tarriffs = $50. So $169 for 10 enclosures.

With the cost of the tariffs you're probably better off buying a used drill press! With a VERY simple jig (fence) it's easy to drill very accurately.

It’s tough to swallow, even if the math works out in my favor. Especially when it comes to pots, since they’re ~$0.39 to $0.59ea and I ordered a couple of years worth last night (plus a few odd film box caps):

Subtotal $115.72
Shipping and handling $36.29
Total $152.01 USD

At least they already shipped them out.
I’m getting ready to get a bunch of enclosures drilled and printed. With that kind of highway robbery going on at Tayda, is there any reason NOT to order from AmplifyFun instead of I’m in the U.S.?

I ran the numbers a month ago or so and LMS came out quite a bit cheaper for a larger order of pots, switches and enclosures thanks to the $10 shipping cap and no sales tax. Since I’ve started powder coating my own enclosures, I only needed raw anyway.

Right now I’ve got a cart going at Tayda with trim pots, a few values LMS doesn’t have instock, a massive assortment of LEDs in every color and size, plus knobs. Tayda still has the widest selection of knobs I’ve found. For things like trim pots, a couple pots and LEDs, the impact to the bottom line is pennies but if I could find that same variety of knobs from a US supplier at a comparable price, I’d switch in a heartbeat

Well, crap. Didn’t realize LMS had all those pot values. Usually places are missing a few and I wind up with a handful from Tayda anyway with an unconstitutional tariff. Oh well, when I get through the 175 pots I bought last night (on top of my 70+ left in my stash, I’ll… oh who am I kidding. That order is going to outlive me.
