Josh Scott Signature JHS Relevator by BilT

Hilarious I got censored and my post deleted because I'm the one that has the nerve to say something about one of the biggest negative bullies on this platform.. You guys just sit around and laugh it off when he's constantly picking on people. Don't paint me in the corner like I'm the bad guy because I actually don't put up with that crap.
I may well regret piping up here, but... Firstly, I didn't think he was that bad. Sometimes people are cranky online, just like in real life at a work place or whatever. There are always folks who like to push your buttons. Don't give them the satisfaction of a response. I try not to poke the bear. My wife is of Croatian descent, and she tells me of a saying in Croatian which translates as "The shit smells less bad if you don't poke it" or something like that. (And i think I'm probably going against that sentiment!)

But there are ways of handing those who you see as bullies. You can ignore them, you can gently chide, you can say things like "please can we keep it civil", etc. Probably the worst thing to do is (a) assume everyone agrees with you, and (b) spout off in some television style tough guy tirade. Maybe it was justified, especially in your view. But it won't make things better. It never does. It may even lead to people taking your opinions less seriously.

To me - and I can only speak for myself - I thought the response came across as a bit OTT and lacking in dignity and restraint. Maybe an over-response. I'm not saying you're a bad guy, you have done nothing to make me think that, but maybe you over-reacted. It doesn't help that every other program on TV has "tough guys" giving speeches and threatening violence. It seems to be the American way. So you're not alone! I come to this place to get away from this stuff in the news everywhere right now. We have enough tough guys threatening violence. I don't need it here.

And I still don't like Josh Smith's guitar, whether intended as a joke or not. If he likes it that's fine. He's allowed to have bad taste.

I've already let all of it go.... Heck I even forgot about this thread days ago. I did in fact overreact and it's a character flaw I have to say what's on my mind when I probably shouldn't. I'm not a pushover and I get a bit chapped at complete @ssholes when I should probably hold my tongue... Oh Well... Today is another day.

I advise you avoid the Walmart in Kissimmee FL. That was the most rage I have experienced in years.

I'm trying to make switching easier

I've messed around with strats for years and I've learned that making it intuitive is the best course of action because in a live situation good luck remembering anything.

Despite that my current strat is an HSH with a regular 5 way and a push/push pot (got them on amazon) that allows 2 set ups of the 5 way - first is normal switching lik n, n+m, m etc etc, and with the pot up it's n, n+b, n+b, n+b, b. So the guitar switches like an HH guitar. I like this more because the humbuckers cut thru the mix more and for me the n+b sound is better than anything with the middle, but I still wanted it available.

My middle pickup is noise cancelling, but if it wasn't, there is a way to have the middle auto coil split when selected with a humbucker using a regular 5 way switch.

The guitar shows some similarity with the Ibanez TV550 though.

I'm seeing where John Suhr got his headstock design.

And when I finally got a Fender Strat, brand new in 1980, I couldn't work out why my Ibanez sounded better and played better... It really wasn't a good time to buy a Fender!

There are a few decent silverface amps from that period, but, yeah, I'm not aware of much else Fender made at the time that someone else wasn't making better for less. I lucked out and got my first Strat in 1988. I didn't know any of the history, it was just plain dumb luck. Luck not as good as the folks who reached guitar-buying age in the '50s, but that guitar has served me well... and I'm 30 or 40 years younger than those guys, so I'll take the tradeoff.

But those '50s guitars were top-quality at a fair price.

In around '81 or '82 there was a brief period where Fender made guitars in the original factory and some were actually very good. The Strat went back to a 4-bolt neck, smaller headstock (but still with the larger "Stratocaster" decal), and lighter bodies. These were the true Dan Smith models, not the ones with two knobs and the jack socket on the pickguard. I had one after selling the earlier one and it was a great guitar.

The Suhr headstock is almost a total copy of the Kramer beak headstock.

Obviously it seems that what Josh Smith's signature guitar needs is flatulence. Is that what you're telling me?
