this is a bit old, but do you mean one should use a TC1044SCPA over the TC1044SEPA for pedal building? I was under the assumption (I’m guessing falsely now) the the difference between the two had to do with temperature tolerance?These should also be suitable alternatives. You definitely want the "SCPA" version. (with the exception of the LT1054)

Yup! Identical otherwise.The “S” suffix is what matters most, as it denotes the boost pin oscillator frequency is above what we can hear (as long as pins 1+8 are connected)…otherwise they are whiny bastards at 10khz.
