It's a RAT with a clean blend and some extra tonal options. I like it but I don't love it. Clean blends on distortion effects aren't really for me, neither on guitar nor on bass. I just find it always sounds like two separate signals - which they are - and it's hard to make them sound cohesive.
Range is your standard RAT filter control but reversed. The clipping switch toggles between asymmetrical (1N4148 + red LED) and symmetrical clipping (two red LEDs).
The weight control is the standout thing to me. It changes how much bass content the LM308 is allowed to amplify. Apart from increasing the overall bass response, it also changes the texture of the distortion as you turn it up. It doesn't flub out or anything though and it still sounds pretty ratty, even at extreme settings Edit: Let me rescind that after playing the pedal some more. It can definitely get flubby once you approach max weight, it still sounds nice though and does retain the RAT character for much of the rotation. I much prefer this over the Ruetz mod for beefing up a RAT.
