AmazonBasics guitar pedals

Pretty sure those are rebranded Nux/Donner/whatever guys. Wonder if they catch fire like other house brand products!

Also, have we reached peak pedal?

Yep, identical to the Kokko line of pedals.

I think it's hard to put all those companies in the same bag, some are actually trying new things.
But then there's outright copying, and treatment of workers. And then, you cannot have a moral high ground just for pedals and then buy cheap crap and cheap clothes made in the same conditions... which is no easy nowadays.
When I started back playing guitar, I first bought cheap pedals, and then moved on to more boutique offerings, and now I'm building because I like effect pedals, but I don't want to spend thousands just to play (not very well) in my basement. So I can get where people using those effects are coming from, but hopefully, it can be an entry into discovering a larger world.

But, yep, that being said, fuck Bezos.

Of the budget brands, I think Behringer would probably still be a better option for folks who can't afford more expensive pedals. But, I do think Joyo and Mooer have cooler ideas. I like my Mooer Preamp Live.

Not surprising, and not necessarily uncool. Sears was very much the Amazon of its day, and it also sold cheap musical instruments. But today who wouldn't want a Silvertone 1484? Or a vintage Harmony H19? And their mail order catalog put guitars in the hands of the Delta bluesmen. Our hobby can be an expensive one, and I am all for downward pricing pressure to make it more accessible to the broader public. If Amazon wants to get into the space and provide another low-cost option to its massive customer base, I think that's a great thing.

Personally, I've been growing more and more anti-Amazon. However, I do see the point in the low cost, entry level pedals. I mean, if you're just starting out playing would you REALLY want to go drop $100-200 on a pedal? Maybe that's just me being cheap :p.
