Are 9v batteries worth it?

I am about to drill a small booster pedal.

I can't decide either 1590B or 1590G.

I originally decided on the G but got the B for more space since it is so tight.

B would give more space and I can have a 9v battery.

But the G is smaller and I don't really use the 9v batteries in my pedals...

I’ve been building my way through the evolution of OD, and I have been installing a battery snap. Before recently, however, I never did…

My first pedals all had room for batteries, but I never use them so stopped bothering.

If I were selling or gifting it I might consider a battery though.
I built my uncle a aion halo as a Xmas gift last year. Did the rams head gilmour or whatever it’s called (awesome pedal btw, ordered another board to make myself one which is on board purgatory at the moment). He didn’t have a ps and only used batteries. So part of his gift he got a power supply too.

Batteries are terrible for the environment. I mean, they can be recycled but most people chuck 'em in the bin and they end up leaking all kinds of toxic nastiness into the environment. Don't use batteries.

I have two rechargeable 9Vs and a bunch of rechargeable AAs and AAAs. They're the ONLY batteries I will use.

In agreement with pretty much everyone, with one exception—if this is a drive you know you might want to use, all on its own (at a jam or something), where just being able to toss it in your guitar case is sweet.
This was my initial thought. I wanted something really small that I could just plug in on the spot.
But most of the time I would have it on a board and I can use an adapter later on.

Sometimes I can tell the difference in fuzz pedals with a battery or power supply but it's minimal and IMO not worth it.

I have a Tone Bender MKII on a breadboard that actually sounds louder and brighter (therefore better) with a power supply.

My last Fuzzrite sounded better with a battery on the breadboard but it sounds exactly the same in the enclosure.
I'm happy I have dual power because I can just plug into it and play without a pedalboard plus I added an on off switch for the battery so I made it part of the look butl unless you need to use them on their own, a battery is just unnecessary.

I never provision for batteries, and in fact will actually clip that lug off of my DC jacks 😅

I did recently have a person on Reverb tear into me for refusing to add a battery snap to a pedal I had listed (among other design choices I won't waver on :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:)...

Let me guess, they demanded a white washer?
