If unagi is making multi tap inductors are we going to see a sushi take on a pultec in the future?

Id love to see some affordable mic input and output transformers. I've been wanting to build some Jensen twin servo type preamps but I just cant afford the xformers at the moment.

At this point I have more pedals than I need and really just want to build microphones and outboard gear. That stuff gets expensive fast

I actually did a Pultec as a pedal a few years ago and was kind of underwhelmed with it on bass and guitar, but I have been wondering if it would have been better as a mic preamp. I think I still have it around somewhere, maybe I'll dig it up and try it.

I've actually been headed down the studio gear rabbit hole quite a bit myself lately. Anything I do as far as mic pres etc. will likely be a Sushi Box product that I sell as a finished unit, but when I do get that far the intention is to have Unagi Magnetics input and output transformers so I'm not paying absurd amounts for the others that are out there.

I'm not quite there yet, but I do have some mic input/output transformer specs I'm sitting on, I just need to send them over to the factory and they'll start working on samples for me. When I have them verified I'm sure they will also make it over to the Unagi lineup for sale to anyone that wants them.

Awesome!

I'm on the edge of moving and starting to build out my studio. I'm guessing it'll be about a two-three year process to get it in a state im happy with starting with treatment, then speakers, then outboard gear.

I've become so much better of a builder in the past year and have started making my own designs and fabing PCBs. By the time I need preamps, I expect to be much better at designing and will be greatful for affordable high quality parts!
