What! This take is so insane I can’t even process it.

Peanut butter is a sacrament in my house, and when I used to play the coffee shop circuit, we used a cleaned out JIF jar for tips!

I like mayo. Or I'll even say that I love mayo, at least a lot more than the average Finn.

But I would never in a million years put mayo and banana on the same bread.

And don't get me wrong, I'm a degenerate too, I used to eat ready-to-eat chicken meatballs cut in half in a bowl, topped with strawberry yogurt, as a child. I gave it a try a year or so back for old times sake, and not going to lie it does sort of work, but I didn't feel like eating it more than once.

But at least in that case the sweetness and slight acidity really cut through the "pretty-much-just-umami-and-nothing-else" taste of the meatballs, so there is definitely some logic in it. But banana and mayo? What the fuck?

It was a domestic dispute.

I said mayo, she said peanut butter. She took it to Facebook, I went to what I erroneously believe to be a more reliable source.

Ironically, Facebook friends said mayo, you guys said peanut butter.

To be fair, I haven't had a banana sandwich in over 30 years, and never had one with peanut butter.
