Foxx tone master transistor selection

Typical fuzz circuits use a gainier transistor in q2. I noticed that the schematics i have seen for the foxx tone master use all the same transistors 2n3565 , 2n5088 or 2n5089. Is there any value in using a higher gain trans in q2?

Q2 in the Foxx is intended to be a unity gain phase splitter, so simply swapping the transistor won't have much, if any effect
