HELP! Talk me out of this......

I didn't know Frampton or SRV played with Bowie. I have nothing to contribute to this thread, but I learned something from it.

Just buy it and get a fret job done. A competent tech can level, crown, and polish the frets to make playability much better for an hour's worth of labor.

A better playing instrument will be more fun and enjoyable.

The instruments are meant to look rough and not be handled the same way as a $2,000 plus guitar with a nice finish. If anything it would be a relief to play something you don't have to worry about dinging.

Wait, I'm supposed to talk you out of this.

There aren't enough enablers in this thread. I just picked up a strat (pro870 i think it was) from them and after some set up work it's a fine guitar. I got a luthier special one with a messed up nut, but now it's good to go and I think I paid under $200 with shipping and all on a big sale for the 4th. Pickups are like 8/10s, really good for the money. The neck is a great shape on mine, the wood could be prettier but in all honesty I got one of the best ones I've seen yet.

Lalalalalalalalalala I can't hear you..........

I like Earl Slick. I saw him with Bowie back when Floyd Roses were new, and he had a long solo spot during the show with an all-red super-strat with a Floyd. He was great. He's a very tasteful player which surprised me! SRV's playing on Let's Dance was underwhelming. Just a bunch of Albert King style bends - I always felt it was as if he didn't listen to the song before playing.

David Bowie and Peter Frampton went to school together in Brixton. What are the chances?

SRV was amazing at playing the blues and his version of Little Wing is probably my favorite guitar instrumental. However I can't stand straight up blues after 2 or 3 songs. As soon as I hear those 3 chords I'm out.
And Kraków is full of standard blues acts...

Never Let Me Down (including the rad Electric Sitar parts on Zeroes) and the accompanying Glass Spiders tour for Frampton. SRV is on the entire Let’s Dance album alongside Nile Rodgers for what I’d probably consider to be the most insufferably dated sounding guitar duo to exist. 😅
