Here is my build of the Informant Overdrive. Compared to the 1981 Inventions DRV.
There a quite of few of these builds on here and they look killer. I took inspiration from a couple. Built it in a 1590BB enclosure. Rattle can white gloss. Damn inkjet printer put a line through the decal. I still like how it all came out. Shout out to '82, the year of my birth.
I bought this pedal a few years ago. Got it when he was doing those early drops when they would sell out instantly. I had to sell it because I needed money and they were going on Reverb for about the same as new. I really like this pedal. I just had to make one for my collection. To me it doesn't have many RAT qualities. At least not the way I use RATs. It does fantastic overdrive tones. The cut knob gives it so much versatility. I had a lot of fun playing it tonight.
I learn new things on every build. This one in particular I learned that good solder really makes a difference. I just switched to a Kester someone on here recommended and wow. It just flows so well. Very consistent. I went with a little thinner than I normally go with so I'm sure that also is a factor. Pricey but I think I see why.
