If I can make it 1/2 or even a quarter as pretty as HamishR's amp builds, I'll be an ecstatic kitty.
Of course, having it sound good would be the cat's pajamas.
I got that same BugeraHere are my main 2 AMPS. I also have various Ampless setups that work well, but as far as my "studio" work and bigger gigs, these are my babies.
Bugera 1960 Infinium PLEXI Clone, and Hughes & Kettner Grandmeister 36
The Grandmeister has stuff in the bottom of the rackmount before I was moving in to a new house, so that isn't the "norm" for the clutter. hahaha
I 100% agree. This amp is a BEAST. I retubed it with 2 Sovtek EL34 NOS Tubes, and 2 EL34 Tung Sol's, as well as a Tung Sol 12ax7 in preamp tube 1 slot, a second Tung Sol 12ax7 in #2, and an Electro Harmonix 12ax7 in #3 Preamp slot.I got that same Bugera
I was really surprised at how much I liked it!.!!
I think it’s way underrated...

This bad boy breaks up BEAUTIFULLY with that Tube saturation. I literally could run it WITHOUT (and often do) any pedals attached. It doesn't need an OD or anything at all. But I do sometimes throw one in front and pound this bad boy a little harder, and she pumps out massive amounts of tone and volume!
You ever ran yours without the PPIM engaged and cranked? If so, I am sure you have felt the same thing as I did when I tried it.. in a closed room, in front of my Vintage 30's cab.... I am almost sure my heart stopped, or at least skipped a beat! lol
I just pulled my tubes immediately (well, I played it probably an hour before hand) but I have always just loved the Tubes mentioned. The best part is the mixing and matching due to Infinium, and the H&K Has similar tech in it to allow the same thing.. Which BTW, is an amazing amp as well, always loved H&K's.... it's probably the blue Lights lolSweet.!.!!
Yeah I’ve been waiting on the stock tubes to get a little more out of em and I’m gonna re-tube mine... man I haven’t come close to cranking that thing!!!
one of my favorite things to do with that is use a dizzy tone and it gets this crazy stabbing sound I haven’t ever been able to get without that exact combo...
but yeah I’m a fan...
I had just put up a little blog about my amps here. This is the one I will never get rid of:

I used to have an '84 2204 JCM 800. It was my main amp in the band I played in about 10 years ago. I boosted it with a LPB1 that I made and it was awesomeI had just put up a little blog about my amps here. This is the one I will never get rid of:

Absolutely beautiful amps! I love the look of that JCM!
I have big plans to build a couple of the Ceriatone Amp kits. If you haven't checked them out, give them a look! The Chupacabra is one of the ones I plan on building, and the Slash AFD Amp is another for sure. Ceriatone is gonna break the bank for me when it comes to the amp side of things. lol

When I get a house I plan to start with the amps. Not enough room now.
My wife chose our living room color to match one of my amps. I've got 4 guitars hanging on the living room walls, and a gear room upstairs. Oh and drums and more amps in the basementI like that plan! I need to tell my wife... "BABE! Next time we buy a house, I plan on buying a boat load of amps (you already have a ton), DON'T INTERRUPT ME!!!! What I meant was, a BOAT LOAD MORE Amps, and design our house around it!" lol
I will probably get a divorce after that... But that means MORE AMPS!![]()
