Mystery stocking

Ok, this is definitely the last year. I got a mediocre strap and a set of strings and a few picks I can’t use. I should have just set fire to the money. Better yet given it to a homeless person.

Why did we literally all get the exact same thing last year? Didn't even look at it this year. Still entering every contest though, with zero chance of ever winning anything

Make fun of it? I want to build one.... :)

I don't know if a dual op amp would sound that cool (although maybe it would?), but I did think about what an SMD approximation of the LM308 would cost, and could you make it close enough to have the difference from something like an OP07 that a lot of people at least claim to hear?

Ehh, in the end the difference is probably small enough to not really matter in all honesty.

I've won two giveaways from premiere guitar (over a span of like 10 years). One from Eminence, first prize was a speaker which I didn't win. Instead, I got a t-shirt, which still would've been cool except that it's so ugly I don't wear it in public. It's a pajama now.

The second was a Earthboard pedalboard, which was really cool--except that when they sent it to me it was missing all the boots (which are essential components for this pedalboard). I had to contact the EB company to ask for the parts, and they said my name didn't match the name of the winner, so I had to forward emails from PG to prove that they gave it me (apparently, I was like a runner up because the actual winner never claimed their prize). EB was cool about it and sent me replacements. It's a great pedalboard.

A few years back they included a small image of the person and their name when they won. Always got a kick out of seeing some old lady winning heavy metal guitars. It's crazy now because also a few years back, there were 2,000-5,000 entries. Now it's 75,000+. I still enter every contest thinking I'm going to win......like a moron.

Kind of a bummer because in the early years if you got your credit card info in the 4 seconds it was open it was generally some decent stuff. This year was a total whiff. I guess I shouldn't really be pissed that I keep getting sucked in, the gambling industry is based on dummies and their cash but somehow PG seemed a bit above board. A bit sad.

On the bright side if you got one of the Rattlesnake cards, those cables are stupid expensive but I have a 10' here that I've had since the company started and I fully expect it to outlive me. I use it from guitar to computer interface (AXE I/O) and even the dog hasn't trashed this one.
