Negative Input Protoboard

I received a white Protoboard recently. After installing all the necessary components I fired it up. It seems to me that the DC power jack is wired backwards on the board. The center pin is assigned to ground. Has anyone else had this problem. After having to replace several components due to the reverse polarity, I reversed the leads on my power supply and it works fine. Is this a mistake on the board which is clearly different than the boards depicted on the website. Please advise.

Center negative is the standard for pedal power supplies.

Also, the ProtoBoard has two types of polarity protection. Reverse polarity shouldn't have damaged it, nor should it have been able to find it's way to the power rails.

Well, technically you do want to use a +9V pedal power supply.

I can see where that could be confusing though, since that would be considered a -9V power supply in pretty much any other field in the world.
