I don't think you can do a ground lift without a transformer...I'm still not going to buy it, though.

Yep, you just lift the ground pin of the XLR. I've traced quite a few pedals that do it this way.

Some include a cap and/or resistor, some just open the pin.

I checked his music out after reading the mention in the Aion build doc. It's fine, I don't hate it, but the music (and tone) are not really for me. However, as a synth head I found this album cover disrespectful.

I kinda dig the DI Tascam sound for what it is. It's different, sits well in the mix. I'll build one for sure if Robert puts out a board for it, definitely not dropping $249 on it though.
