Yup, ex-guitarist is Kenny G's son, and is the other guest on that track. It wasnt super out of left field, his son was the drummer or guitarist at that time I think. It’s funny either way though.

That was his experimental phase with the Roland guitar synth. But that song “Are you Going With Me” the “head” or melody is that almost back ground synth you hear before the soloing. One of my favorite Metheny group tunes.Pat Metheny sounds exactly like Kenny G to me, plus the unbeatable arrogance of a jazz player. Elevators were created for Pat Metheny's music.
Edit: I found my comment below that video from 4 years ago haha
I mean what the hell is this?
Ok, what the fuck was that. That's my first time hearing this. Not only is that a ripoff of the police, it's not even original in terms of ripping off- this sounds like a bunch of 2010s rap beats that were coming out at that time. Except not as good. I don't get it.Let's continue shitting on this mkgee dude. Thsi old racist fart endorses him
I mean it's a blatant ripoff of the Police
He should team up with Greta Van Fleet and do the ultimate ripoff.
Bit late to the party, but I believe that's a later version of the 424, either the Mk2 or Mk3.
Not in this case. People are using direct out for the "sound", which bypasses the cassette. Also, wouldn't some of the "magic" be in overloading or saturating an actual tape cassette?
I think it's more "inspired by" than "based on". That said, I think the Demo Tape works better as a pedal.Isn't the Demo Tape fuzz based on the same circuit?

Yes to both lol I threw one in a combo build with the Double Tracker. It definitely can get THAT sound, but with this other gain channel or master volume added, would definitely make it more versatile.I think it's more "inspired by" than "based on". I always think Bryan Adams recorded off the radio by Robert Pollard. I have to say i mostly hate itYeah, it’s a very weird stylistic mish-mash to my ears. It sounds like Christopher Cross singing for Sebadoh (scuttled yacht rock?), or something…![]()
