Octarock Suboctave Standalone

You can get a Chopped OC-2 (or OC-1, if you will) through Oshpark. There's another outfit that supplies PCBs that looks like they ripped their OC-1 off the Oshpark layout — but I don't know which one came first.

Given that 2-Oct down is pretty much useless on bass, I'd be all for having a good & simple single-octave down standalone.
How does Merlin Blencow mete out licenses for his designs? I'd love to see Das PPCB UnterzeeBoot.

+1 on the Afterboost, too, as many find their octavers to be a bit anemic no matter if OC-2 or what have you.

Have a link handy?

So, last night I tinkered with adding a boost to just the -1. I used a microamp board, and while it boosted the output well, I couldn't keep the octave from clipping the input of the boost, unless I played with a feather touch.
I'll probably mess with the values in the Microamp a bit more today, though

I like using the hogsfoot/mole with the oc2. I'm thinking about experimenting with lower cap values to let a little more highs but if it's just the -1 oct the mole shaves off that faint crispy digital sound leaving all the delicious meat. Too much wet blanket for a clean/-1 oct sound but I'm thinking there might be a happy medium to be found there. Doesn't clip for me like you're describing with the microamp.

I tried it with the octorock too, might tinker with swapping my duende boost that's in there for a modded "tamed" mole too.
