I have dreams in which I am Howard Moon. There’s a Rickenbacker too. Sorta like this video, except in my dreams, the wolves are after me and I have no pants.

 
I'll jump in with more praise for the Cioks. I have a DC7 as well as a Cioks 4 expansion powering my board, and together they run 7 tube pedals with a total of 11 tubes, in addition to a Whammy and a wireless receiver. Each tap has its own DIP switches to configure the output voltage, so I run most of my pedals from 9V 660mA taps with the exception of my wireless system which takes a 12V 500mA tap. The RCA output plugs isn't a big deal to me and I'm not really sure why it would be, Cioks included all the cables I needed and I haven't needed to buy any more so what kind of cables they require is trivial in my opinion.

The Cioks supplies are solidly built, offer a plentiful amount of current (even for a tube-obsessed idiot like myself), power is clean and noise-free, and the chassis are nice and slim so they fit under my board with ease.
 
I would like to say I am quite happy with my upgrade this summer from an MXR DC Brick, to a truetone CS12. I knew my set up was noisy, but I didn't realize HOW noisy all my pedals were until I used the CS12.
My biggest concern was space in the road case I use. I didn't want to have to buy or build a new one.
I went from a thin piece of scrap plywood, flat on the floor, with my TC tuner pedal zipped to the top of the DC Brick. To the CS12 built in, and under the same size plywood. So that it fit, slanted, in the road case.
I gig with it. It's heavy. But when I lift it, or see my drummer lift it, I grin. Cause of all the goodness and sweet tone that is in that case.
I also told myself when purchasing it, that it is more then I need, or most likely will ever need.
 
Most of you are in the US so the suggestions here are understandable.
I'm in Europe and I can confirm that the Harley Benton power supplies are isolated. Massively cheaper than the usual suspect brands. I can't tell if they're noisier but they aren't noisy.
The slim ones use a wall wart (kind of defeats the purpose), the ones with integrated power are just a tad too tall for the Pedaltrain Nano due to the latter's short feet that can't be easily replaced.

Cioks power supplies seem to be the way to go for power, options and size. I just hate the stupid RCA cables and the fact that they are the same price in Poland despite being built here.
That and Pedaltrain using riveted instead of screw on feet, necessitating slim power supplies or surgery on the boards to be able to fit taller feet.

It's what they call asshole design on Reddit. As a former designer of buildings, furniture and graphics I can't condone the practice of deliberately making things harder or expensive to use in order to profit more.

I had a dream that I was in a game in the holodeck and B'Elanna Torres transported me to the engine room. I couldn't help notice the floor was thick grass and needed mowing.

I have never been transported in a dream before.....it felt strange....

Yeah, I have really effing bizarre dreams lately..... I will be getting out my new ric to play tonight tho.....

I went voodoo, but I don’t know if it’s better than anything else really. Just curious if there’s something about the fender that looks like an advantage vs one of these? Looks similar in terms of price and outlets?

I have a pedal power 2+ and I really dislike it. It's the first power supply I bought and at the time, I thought it was good. It's noisy and it's woefully underpowered.

Exactly my experience.

and my home made pedal board wasn't designed for lifting the lid to change wiring. I'd really like the ability to just use any available socket and know it will handle anything I plug in no matter how hungry it is. (looking at you SushiBox...)

The 3+ Would also solve your underpowered problem, but I don’t know about noise. Is that a problem with them in general? I think I read someone talking some shit about the toroidal donuts in there but I don’t remember the details.

As a person who upgraded to gigrig less than 2 years ago I find the new one preeeetty irritating. I can vouch that the old one is excellent though. No actual complaints other than the new one looking cooler. I run a big board but relatively few digital circuits so having an easily upgradable system has actually saved me money. I would've needed a second cioks/trutone by now had I gone that route.
 
well, a while ago i cracked the shits at how overpriced power supplies can be (aud$20-50 for a POS SMPS, and then proper ones with XFR are about double/triple that) and so i kinda built this one on a tagboard / scrap pine board, and then installed/contained this inside an old steel flour tin with a swivel lid :ROFLMAO:

pretty basic.
1A transformer.
12VAC tap into bridge rectifier, some filter caps etc., 7912 regulator for 12V supply, feeds into 7909 regulator for 9V supply.
works great. no noise at all.

9V runs a tuner, overdrive, phaser + delay
12V runs the CE-2

hasn't let me down yet.
