PSA: Fender.com Labor Day Sale

I'm going to have regrets either way.

Part of me says to grab the Strat so I can take my Les Paul out of the workshop... but I like having the Les Paul in the workshop, I just hate it getting banged around... I like testing pedals with humbuckers, and as much as I prefer heavier guitars it's sometimes I bit much to balance it while monkeying with things on the bench. I know one day it's going to take a nosedive and we'll both be floored.

The other part of me says it won't end up in the workshop, the Les Paul will stay right where it is, and the Strat will just sit in the closet never used.... plus I already have a CS Strat that is virtually identical to the CV.

Here’s another perspective, albeit somewhat hazy…that strat has tested how many pedals? All of those dings are love marks and more valuable than any other guitar in your collection.

The Strat has only seen daylight a couple times... it's the Les Paul that gets used for testing pedals. :ROFLMAO:

I have one of those fancy PRS floating guitar stands, but it's in the closet as well.

I noticed the CS stuff wasn’t 50% off…or even 1% off..
Well if you're looking at CS stuff you don't need a sale....:)

I don't play bass, well actually I did play bass at one time in a band in the 8th grade...heh.
But I've always wanted one. I keep thinking at some point that I'll start creating my own backing tracks and I'll need a bass.

But it's been a question of "how much bass to buy" just for just messing around. The Classic Vibe line just really appeals to me.
And at $236 it was just too much......how could I resist.

Having said that, I have a sneaky feeling that like all my other Classic Vibe guitars, it's destined for some extensive rework and upgrades......

Testing pedals with only a Les Paul is like eating only frog legs....you also need to eat chicken once in a while.....:)

Seriously, you need a "shop tester" with single coils. That CV Strat is perfect for that.
Have them drop ship it to me, I'll get it playing as nice as your CS Strat and send it over to you.

I did mention hazy right? :ROFLMAO: Nah I hear you. That’s why I use those mini protoboards for live testing, so my guitars don’t go anywhere near the tangled mess of bench.

I've had the CV Tele and Strat in the past, both are excellent.

Ironically when I bought my CS Strat I was hunting for a Fender that I liked as much as the CV..... and it took CS to get there.

Plus I need nitro, I can't have poly strangling out the subtle nuances of my playing dynamics when I run a Superfuzz into a Big Muff and bang on my favorite 90's grunge tunes.

I shouldn't even be looking at the Strat, I don't need another Strat. If I bought it I'd be tempted to have the body refinished in Taos Turquoise, because I really want a Strat with that finish, but not bad enough to pay CS prices for a finish...

Coincidentally I've been looking for a Tele, but..... Idunno.....

I’m no gear snob. My skill level won’t allow it. The sale is great, and had I not spent all my money on amp builds this week, I’d probably be ordering something.

A Tele is great for testing pedals (y)

So are SGs..... and that Silver Sky I've been eyeballing.

How can I, in good faith, release a PCB that hasn't been tested on a wide variety of guitars?

Now I feel obligated.... I need them all, it's a business expense.

Spoken like a true entrepreneur 😉

Why does the Tele cost more than the Strat? .... $69 difference? Well I might as well just go look at a CS..... :ROFLMAO:

Also why haven't these sold out already? That would make this a lot easier.

  • Haha
Reactions: fig
OK, I've changed the name on my shipping address at Sweetwater to "A gift from the members of PedalPCB"....

She'll never know the difference.... now all we have to do is keep our stories straight.

Kidding of course, my wife actually encourages me to buy guitars... that makes this even harder. :ROFLMAO:
