First time with the young one at a local lake, where dogs are allowed. With sorta private and free running spots. Fun swimming lessons with our little ratty poodle.

The area is owned by a large zinc factory and while they got cadmium stored underground in one part, they turned another in a wildlife area (crossing certain fences at your own risk, cause there's boars and bovines there.)

Matariki (Maori new years celebrations) at our wee community.
Mid winter here obviously, so big bonfire by the lake side. Neighbour is a photographer and took this drone shot.

I didn't dare to bring my steel string acoustic down to the lake as it was pretty damp and a mixture of hot and cold
