Rangemaster transistor selection

Hello, how are you?

I wanted to know what is your ideal range of preference in terms of HFE and Leakage for a pnp germanium transistor in a Rangemaster? Its 60 too low for HFE?

The usual recommendation is around 90, but depending on where you look, you'll see different ranges such as 60-120, 75-100, etc.

60 seems like the low end but will probably work if the leakage is low.

In mine I used 134 hfe which exceeds the recommendations, but I'm happy with the result.
