Ah I see. Even if the added series resistance from COMPRESSION affects the FILTER control, it’s a much smaller value, so it’s impact would be minimized. Thanks!
Thank you for your expertise now I know how to answer that question a bit better in the future!!!Ah I see. Even if the added series resistance from COMPRESSION affects the FILTER control, it’s a much smaller value, so its impact would be minimized. Thanks!
Some things may need to be revised but here she is as promised!

Oh absolutely. When the switch is engaged to the Blue LED the diode is getting clipped. In my opinion the distortion becomes more open. Do not let that fool you into thinking that fixes the RATs usual problem of getting muddy when the GAIN is cranked all the way. This is due to overdriving both the opamp and diodes. I think with the BLUE LED there’s a nice audible tone difference and a nicer balance between what the guitar is doing and the circuit combined.Great job(s)!
MANY thankages for sharing the schematic.
I've read somewhere that blue LEDs have such a high threshold that they don't work well as clipping diodes (ie the signal is usually never big enough to induce clipping in them), and yet I see them used in a variety of builds as clipping diodes. Are you getting some clipping from the blue LED?
Not quite yet! The board has been revised plenty of times but no changes in terms of values were done to the board. Im going to be ordering new boards with those revisions and will be sending them out. For now though since @MichaelW really needs one im going to be sending him one for him to demo for you guys!Cool!
So are you taking orders for your PCB?
Thank you dude!Holy shit, @steviejr92- great work!!
Thank you very much! Those are some kind words but i just a fellow DIY guy! Nonetheless its always appreciated!Man, what can I say that hasn’t already been said. It’s love the thought and creativity you put into this.
Thank you man! That means a lot! Im glad you heard the demo and liked it!I missed this thread first time round dude but both the pcb and the enclosure look fantastic. Well done.
Absolutely! It’s my way of giving back to the community! I can never forget where I came from! This is indeed stellar work, and I appreciate you sharing the schematic!
Hahaha yeah I sent it to a demoer, pretty cool seeing others play it!!Just caught this on YouTube!
I’m looking forward to getting this one built.
