Just starting to snow here. National weather service says I make the cut into the 18” zone, but pretty sure they let Elon fire all the scientists over there so who knows.

I was reading your power infrastructure is especially difficult because it runs thru the forestry in the area. Friday night I was driving home and passed a troupe of line workers' trucks heading west from where I live in the northeast. Hopefully they were heading to your neck of the woods.

224k of the 470k Nashville Electric Service customers are now without power
Wood stove is keeping the house around 57, but not sure we will fare so well when it's single digits.
That's about as warm as the stove and furnace kept it last year when we spent a week in the single digits
About to empty the fridge and freezers. Fridge stuff into the crawlspace which is sitting at 34.
We'll be alright. My nice but naive neighbors that moved "to the country" for the first time in their lives don't sound well prepared. I gave them a bit of firewood but it won't last long but not sure I have much more to give. I won't let them freeze to death but I'm not sure I could let their kids in my house for a few days without MDKing them either...
