CONTEST The official Monday contest

CONTEST
Sent one boy off to his first day of second grade, half day of work so I spent the rest building a butterfly enclosure with the other boy whose preschool starts next week. We’ve collected at least 120 monarch eggs, might be more like 150, so we needed more space for them!

Well I just spent $108 at the PedalPCB store, gimme some bread man! LOL!
If that doesn't make you happy, I also am refurbishing/rebuilding a '52-'54 Fender Pro Reverb. Lemme tell you, it was a basket case when I received it! It even came with some flaky asbestos on the back panel, yum! They don't build them like they used to... (Thank God!)
Hope everyone had as good of a Monday as I had... Ok, yeah, that was my brown-nosing ending to this post!
LOL!

Woke up next to my son from out late night video gaming sleep over. Finished populating the last of my boards and made a part list. Made pancakes and then played more Nintendo while listening to UM with Dean. Grocery shopping and prep for anniversary dinner, more Nintendo then dinner, ice cream, a few more rounds of Smash Brothers. At some point the neighbor kids were over and we played soccer. I realized how out of shape I am and went and ate ice cream

Pretty good day. Work was fine except for the tiresome town hall that I had to call into for two hours. Had a bit of time to start a UV design so that was fun. Kids started homeschool with the wife which went really good from what I could tell. Definitely had worse days.

Aside from the usual Monday activities, I walked to the supermarket and back in the rain. Wearing a raincoat. I got the items I wanted, which is always nice. The shops are a couple of km away so walk/shop/walk takes about an hour, and that's my exercise target for the day.

It's currently Tuesday afternoon here in my time zone, by the way. Nearly 2pm.

Todays memory is a rush. Wake up and hang with kiddo before shower and work. Home for lunch and hang with kiddo and eat before back to work. Home and walk the frog (dog) before making dinner and giving kiddo a bath. Put kiddo to bed and clean up etc. I think I picked up my guitar and played a lick or two somewhere in there.
It was a good day.

Pretty good day, back to work after a semi-vacation to spend time with new grandson, picked up that Mad Professor Deep Blue Overdrive. It's a nice medium gain overdrive, fits my needs quite well. Wouldn't call it extraordinary, but it does sound good.

All I got for my day as further irritation, after over 2weeks cable guy finally shows up, after 1guy spewed crap on missing me when had no clue he was coming let alone the 49 call circlejerk getting 1…. seems the fiber itself broke between box and wall. this will take the other crew which no clue when they might show up … Check the mail here’s their crap advertising for upgrades I neither need even less want…instead of a gift card, can I get a couple of cheap arse drums to murder? also ran out of solder working on a board, but i did get a peg head to final thickness

That does look good. And I approve of that pepper substitution.

Too bad nobody else in the house would help me eat it.
yeah, it was good! I only subbed the peppers because our poblano plants died early in the season this year, and I forgot to get one at the store. I would have put a reaper or two in, but I wanted it to still be palatable to my mom and sister. last time I made the recipe, a year or two ago, I did one large poblano and three habaneros from the garden, and it was pretty great. the fruitiness of the habanero worked well in the recipe. The Scotch Bonnet has a similar sort of sweet fruitiness to it as well, which is a great foil to the heat they provide, but I think it would be interesting to play around with a few different pepper types next time. If I go with the Carolina Reaper or the Trinidad Scorpions that I have growing, I'd probably want to pair them with an especially sweet and fruity pepper, since they tend to have more of a floral heat to them rather than any sort of sweetness.

We’re into the second week of our summer holiday.

I wish I could say that I’m relaxed but with two young kids, they’re constantly tired and if you’re not working to keep them occupied then you’re paying for it..

At least I’m getting the evenings to work on something which should ease my pedal supply chain woes.

I managed to track down a missing delivery of parts from Banzai, including Belling BBDs. Installed one in Cepheid, a little bit of bias adjustment and it works a treat. Started putting together parts for an upcoming lectric-fx build. Found that I had forgotten to order two values of 1/8w resistors, thankfully before the boards pitch up. Tayda to the rescue, since my local insists on a minimum order of 100 at a time. I get their point but what will I do with 98 tiny 6k8 resistors (at least by my standards)? Otherwise another not too manic Monday has come and gone.

Oh sorry, forgot to mention that I did the family shopping 🛒
