What’s on *YOUR* workbench?

Progress being made.

Holy fuck that poly finish was a nightmare to get off. Wowza.

Had to a resort to a heat gun on the edges. Then a card scraper in select locations that were difficult to hit with sandpaper. But its near ready for prep sanding & refinishing.

Another project in process in the corner there. Gonna be a thinline JM with a pair of BKP pig 90's. Sanded, filled the grain with black filler, gonna do some kinda dark green dye...maybe try a burst.

Plus...little example of the single string bridges I designed for the 8 string.

Building an 8 ball gold edition. I got the enclosure drilled and will begin tomorrow, Just reading other posts about it now.

Last night I was down to my last 2 PCBs to build! One of which, a Byzantium Flanger, I largely completed today. I just need to pull out an SMD adapter for the BC560, as I only have SMD for these.

Until a mail delivery arrives with a couple of phaser PCBs from @MichaelW. I am looking forward to getting those built, as I like modulation in my synth audio chain. After these, I am going to switch gears for a while to enclosure design, and laying out some custom PCBs.

Ended up being an unplayable turd.., The Chinese neck I bought looked gorgeous up to the point I installed and tried to do a setup.. The nut slot is tilted a few degrees toward the frets.. Thus letting the strings hit the first fret and causing a wonderful sitar sound.., Even tried raising the 2 post American standard Trem to a rediculous amount to get the buzz out 👎… going straight in the trash and gonna have to buy another neck… $90 wasted

the actual machining for the slot is what the problem is..... By the time I actually setup a router and jig square enough to cut the slot correctly and protect the finish so it doesn't look like the end result of a flea market repair job I'll just buy a proper neck... I work for a 60 million dollar custom woodworking company.... Sometimes it's easier and the end results look better when you just start over with better materials :ROFLMAO:

TUTORIAL Thread 'Basic fret level, crown & polish made easy (picture heavy)'

Not really sure if this thread belongs here but it's the only forum that has a "tutorial" badge.

As promised in @BuddytheReow 's parts caster build thread. Here's a method of doing fret level, crown and polishing that's relatively simple and doesn't require a lot of really expensive tools.

I've mentioned before that getting frets right on ANY guitar at ANY price can make or break how a guitar plays.

You WILL require SOME tools. So at a minimum you will need the following:

1. Notched straight edge
You don't have to spend a ton of money on these. I actually have a cheap one...

Highly recommend doing this to every Chinese neck.
