The gatekeeper was a pretty fun build, the disaster transport does the spooky delay thing pretty well.Tayda order with my enclosures arrived! I feel like the more "landscapey" theme is where I want to move, but I also went with a more traditional style for the EF120 overdrive (matamp preamp clone). Picture is a bit dark, colors are a bit more lively in person, of course.

Really happy with them, from top left: Gatekeeper, Truth Bender, King of the Morning, Low Tide and the EF120 overdrive. All of my Effects Layouts boards and one PPCB, next set will be mostly PPCB again.
Gatekeeper is a little bit washed out (maybe could have messed with the contrast a bit there), and the Truth Bender is a bit grainy if you look closely because of the matte black sand enclosure, but those don't really matter.
What is a bit annoying is that Gatekeeper has some sort of a small particle (maybe from drilling?) stuck under the UV print, and this time it's in a more visible spot than the last time with the 1981 Inventions DRV one I had the same with. But of course it's not really noticeable unless you know where it is or look closely - even if every pedal had one I'd still keep ordering from Tayda, so far it's just been one per five pedals though.

Also of course got a bunch of other parts too, a black footswitch to finish the Clandestine Preamp for example. But the Musikding order that hasn't been shipped is holding me up, since I'm down to my last two mono jacks... But I got the alligator clips and screw terminals so I can better use the test board from Effects Layouts, so at least I can build some other boards, easily test them and then box them later when I get the jacks.
Edit: Oh and got a TC-1 component tester in the mail too, plus there's a big load of germanium transistors from Ukraine in the post office I'll fetch later this week, but those aren't quite as sexy.
Nice work, as always. Pedants 'R Us: Baxandall EQ is active by default, the passive version is the James stack. An active Bax EQ and a tremolo PCB.
If the tremolo works well then I’ll add a clean blend (because every modulation should have a clean blend).

Yes, the purist in me wanted to just call it the BaxStack, but if I ever give them to others then it becomes a straining discussion.Nice work, as always. Pedants 'R Us: Baxandall EQ is active by default, the passive version is the James stack.
Here's the original white paper:
Doing that is a bit more fun if it uses tubes, IME. I found that white paper very useful, but actually building one that way with tubes for musical instruments turned out to be surprisingly difficult. So as usual, I ended up bastardizing it a bit for a few of my tube bass preamp builds and am super happy with the results now. And all of my current SS bass preamps use active Bax format for at least the bass and mid controls, FWIW. Nothing wrong with calling it that, especially if your end users understand it better!Yes, the purist in me wanted to just call it the BaxStack, but if I ever give them to others then it becomes a straining discussion.
I do need to build a Passive James...
I was out of town for a few days and had a horrendous trip. Came home to this @MichaelW -made thumb sucker!! It might take me a few days to get to try it out but I'm excited and it looks great

You wouldn't be saying that if you knew how my day went

This fattie is either going into a bass or into a fuzz.
+1 for large components, oversize lugs and roomy enclosures.
Look at those swanky moccassins
Daaang. That's all going in a single multi pedal, yes?View attachment 50578
