What's in the mailbox? 📬 📦

Anytime anyone mentions AES I'm obligated to let them know that if you have anything vaguely resembling a business for amps/pedals/guitars/etc., you can apply for an account with CE Distribution, the wholesale arm of AES. They have the exact same inventory but everything is at least 10% cheaper. There is a $50 minimum order requirement for CE, but it's not hard to meet that when you're building amps.

Thank you. Yeah, I should do that. $50 is a pretty low minimum.

Anything worth doing is worth over doing right?
And anything worth doing right is worth doing twice!
And this bad boy suggested by @jwin615:
A love a pair of good strippers.
Take the time to dine tune the adjustment screw to where when you really squeeze, like firm boy strength, you get a clean strip without getting into the silver plating much.
. They've tightened their requirements since I first signed up, but still not bad if you've been doing this for a bit.
IIRC, they want a business website based email now, no Gmail etc.

I think they asked for my EIN when I made my account
Yeah when I opened my account with them (holy shit, ten years ago???) they asked for at least two of business card, business website, and commercial invoice. I had business cards and a website, and they signed me right up. I didn't even have an EIN until 2020.

I mean, who doesn’t like a pair of strippers,

I don't remember when was the last time I bought a pedal, new. I guess the Chase Bliss mystery box sort of counts? Or probably it was the Quad Cortex before that. But in any case, I looked through a huge list of boutique builders in Europe I found on reddit, looking for anything interesting, and ended up with this one to reward myself for writing words and melodies for EP I'm working on (something I've never done before).

This is the first album of an obscure Japanese fusion band called De Lorians, published in 2016. I cannot remember how I learned about them but this album used to be on YouTube music (to which I subscribe) but is no longer there so I decided to buy the record (somebody did put the whole album on YT though). And it finally came in the mail!

I also got a Tayda order, surprisingly no tariffs even though it shipped after they went into effect (but I purchased way earlier than that). I got some enclosures (red sand texture looks very nice) for the splitter and mixer and one for the tone generator. Also some jack plugs and other random bits. No pic because it’s all upstairs and I am too lazy to go there right now.

Well, this is a first: I had never found a brand new record that skips! There seems to be a small blemish on side B that’s causing the last song to skip. Very weird.

Edit: I reached out to the seller who gave me a partial refund and I got to keep the record! It also came with a digital download so I still get to enjoy the music.

How do you like the
Rev500?
I just got home with it so it’s too early for much of review. Still sitting at the kitchen table printing manuals and verifying everything works. So far I’ve just played cassettes through it. The controls feel nice and the interface seems pretty slick compared to the other (older) rack reverbs I’ve messed with.
