What's in the mailbox? 📬 📦

I’ll be honest I have no idea yet I think a simple fuzz circuit for now I haven’t really given much thought to says the guy who spent a bunch of money on new equipment 🤔
I haven't yet managed to build anything from this breadboarding beginner thread I started a while ago, but once I build the 3 pedals I have queued up, that'll be my next move...

Just saw on my tracking app that an order from the UK I’ve been eagerly awaiting for quite a while has been delivered and signed for… except it wasn’t delivered to me, and it was signed for by someone with initials I don’t recognize. Not sure what’s worse— the two USPS guys who constantly deliver to wrong addresses on a regular basis, or my neighbors who fairly regularly sign for packages that aren’t addressed to them and never contact us about it. 🙄

Guess I’ll be on the phone with the post office tomorrow

well would you look at that… just got off the phone with the post office who confirmed that it was delivered in my mailbox “after an attempt was made to delivery it at the door” even though it’s against protocol to deliver signature-required certified mail to a mailbox. Sure enough it was shoved way in the back of my mailbox, but I was sure to let them know that I have a ring doorbell camera, and there was no point yesterday where anyone attempted to deliver to the door. So the mailcarrier:
  1. Lied about attempting to deliver it
  2. Signed off on signature-required mail on their own
  3. Broke delivery protocol by delivering to a mailbox
  4. Lied about it being handed off directly to the recipient
Hmmm… sounds like we’ve got a local Newman

The long awaited KOT boards, as well as some cute lil 1590A buffer boards (Cornish buffer. Yay!), a ROG English Channel (Vox-in-a-box, into a Vox = Voxer?) and two horizontal wooly mammoth PCBs. Any chance anyone knows the mouser # for the little PCB mount grounding springs? i have a few other things that need them too.

Oh and speaking of Seinfeld, the English Channel is probably/maybe going to be dubbed the English Patient. I bet you’d prefer Sack Lunch though— d'you think they got shrunk down, or is it just a giant sack?

From what I remember, they’re kinda spendy for what they are, try using the tuner end of a high E string. Otherwise, ask Brian over at MBP—he includes one with the Sludgehammer project.

That's what they do. My carrier does it all the time. Marks shit undeliverable, says that there's an animal in the way, etc. They just smash whatever button cuz they have to put something and no one will hold them accountable. My guy doesn't even come every day

You must bake for them, or they do not respect you.

1, 2, and 4 happen about once a week here.

I haven't had to sign for a signature required shipment in months, they're always signed for by an "M. BROWN".... which is usually fine, I'd prefer the no contact, but every once in a while they're delivered to the wrong address.

Surely this has to be considered mail fraud, right?

I’ve had them do 1, 2, or 4 before many times, but never all of the 4 at once. I’ve had plenty of “signature required” packages that were either signed for by the mailcarrier and left at the door or in the mailbox, but they were marked as “left at door” or “delivered in mailbox”. This was international certified mail, so the guy on the phone said that it’s not something where they can omit getting a signature. This hit the full quadfecta of mailcarrier shenanigans, which is impressive in its boldness and in its laziness. I’m like 99% sure someone is getting chewed out for multiple counts of mail fraud and forgery lmao.

Yeah, I have immense issues with the mail carriers. My regular guy is pretty good, but there are other people like 40% of the time who are just terrible. At least once a month I have to pick stuff up from the post office because I get a slip in the mailbox that nobody was home or that the walkway was obstructed (neither true lol). To be somewhat fair about the stuff being deliver to the wrong house, whoever did the city planning around here was a fool to think it was a good idea to give intersecting streets similar names, put exceedingly similar identical street names in the neighborhood townships, and to randomly omit certain house numbers. The postal guys are still terrible though. I’m on a first name basis with the the NYS postmaster because of how often things have been lost, destroyed, or misdelivered.

I’ll have to give that a try. I’ve used plain guitar strings to clear out solder pads in the past, but maybe I have some nickel plated plain strings somewhere I could try with. Otherwise it’ll be the old semi-reliable wire that gets clamped in the lid trick.

You can also solder a wire to a serrated lock washer on a jack or stomp switch. That’s typically what I do.

 trying to remember what build mentioned that, had insulated jacks or some other signal ground issue but still said take advantage of the lock washer on the stomp switch with a soldered wire. About the mail, the regular carrier is better at getting my stuff to the interior porch when it doesn't fit in the lock boxes than Fed-Ex/UPS... been days the latter 2 just barely get i on the concrete step 🤬 When it's been a substitute Like last week, the guy in 9 gets my mail but we're not sphincters to each other... here's hoping today or Monday is my 60 watt board.
