You can't get any more "authentic Filtertron" than TV Jones. They're more Gretsch than Gretsch:)

The pickups I'm talking about are P90's different animal completely and won't fit in your Gretsch. I'd leave the Gretsch alone.
Get a cheap Harley Benton with P90's and see if you like the sound.

A P90 is essentially a big fat single coil pickup. So you get all the noise and stuff from that (unless you get a hum cancelling type which I think changes the nature of the pickup and it no longer sounds as P90-ish as I would like).

For frame of reference. David Gilmour's first solo in "Another Brick in the Wall" is a clean but "pushed" P90 (57 Les Paul Goldtop I believe).

I have a PRS baritone with P90’s…
I thought you were saying you were putting lollars in there…
Yeah I love these pickups…
But pickups are tricky…
You never know what you’re missing if there’s no comparison…
My wife bought me this guitar because “it was the one off the black hole sun video”… lol
They had just so happened to reissue it…
It my favorite guitar… I’d never owned a gretsch and probably would have never bought it for myself but it’s amazing.!.!!

Ah, no I have this Gretsch Jet Junior that has a P90 in the neck and Filtertron in the bridge.
I upgraded the bridge Filtertron to a more "vintage output" type and now have a hard time balancing the two. It was already a bit off before but it's worse now with a vintage output in the bridge.

That's so awesome.

He's one of my favorite singer/songwriters due to "The Lonesome Crowded West" and "Strangers to Ourselves."

Yeah I went through a phase in my 20’s and they were my favorite band… strangers to ourselves is the last album I heard by them… haven’t heard their new stuff…

Still is my wife’s favorite band… or one of …

I saw them in Texas and the show wasn’t that great… but I’d always wanted to see them live…

Yeah.. Isaac Brock certainly isn't known for nailing those live performances but I love the songs so much that I'm able to forgive that.
(I've never been to a performance but thanks to YouTube I've seen how rough they can be.)

I haven't been super impressed with anything since "Strangers to Ourselves," but that song "Cowboy Dan" alone earned the band their tenure of my affection.

Yah I would not touch that guitar. That thing's beautiful and with the stock pickups it sounds fantastic.
Sounds like your wife is a keeper! My wife gives me sh*t for the stuff I buy.....hahah (But she's a keeper too.....)

Quite the haul today! Pre-Hurricane bonanzarama wooohoo!

First up, @DGWVI was kind enough to send me a couple of 9203 LDR's that I haven't been able to find for a couple builds.
Except he LOADED ME UP with all kinds of other goodies! Thanks so much Tim!! I gotta sort through all these woooot!

IMG_3563.JPG

Next, some ever elusive MN3101's from two "unknown and perhaps questionable" sources. @fig is rigging up a thinger-jigger to test them. Waiting breathlessly for his results....

IMG_3564.JPG

Then, a boatload of StompFlo chips from the other side of the pond. Anyone that's building Chucks Electric Ladyparts board and needs one of these let me know. I got enough for everyone. (@fig and @Chuck D. Bones are also programming some custom ones that will sound better)

WOOOHOOO! I love getting new Lollars:) These are going in my LP Special today as long as the power holds up.
IMG_3566.JPG

Some machined 8 pin DIP sockets....cheap ones from Amazon but very high quality.
I've bought a ton from these guys, very solid stuff.

IMG_3567.JPG

Last but not least, couple boards from PPCB! A Dream Fuzz (Op Amp BMP) and a XB-MB for a build for my brother. PLUS a prototype blender board, woohoo! Gonna revisit the Celestial Drive build with this.

Wow!

One last "What's in the Mail"......The Big Brown Truck of Happiness just dropped off a box from Germany.....

All I can say is.......I'm a believer now......of Harley Benton. This is absolutely insane for $148....build quality and components are definitely a cut above the Squier. Oh and this one won't be needing a fret level..... :ROFLMAO:
