What's in the mailbox? 📬 📦

Not in the mailbox, but rather liberated out of HK storage and escaping across the Pacific to an undisclosed safe-house where “he” will be given new identity and purpose in life…

- Assorted enclosures
- bass tuners
- spools of jumper wire (black and silver)
- rosen
- nut blank
- mic cable
- silver vero-board
- spare upright tailpieces
- miscellaneous parts for pedals, guitar & bass
- half-abandoned projects

Alas , the compensated nut and 5-way Strat-switch for the Feralcaster aka Tightwad Tele are still AWOL;
and 4 spools of 26AWG (black, red, orange, & purple) went to amp-sifu (he had no fine-wire for pedals, just amp-thick stuff), the 26ers sacrificing themselves for the greater good…

The engineer turned manager in me is struggling without something technical to do so I am going all in on MIDI stuff. Got a SA Ventris and Nemesis on the way as well as some arduino. Plan is to build my own Morningstar mc8 as well as a midi controlled relay bypass looper for all my non-MIDI pedals.

Also in the pipeline, restocking on AliExpress turrets as I'm down to only 50 or so. Great deal at 13 cents each. Figure 600 ought to do for a while.....

I can unsee that union jack purse...

Something in me wants to make it into a Guvnor or AC30 style OD...

I remember when I moved from programmer to manager, then director. One word of advice, begin working on next years budget THIS year. Every time you have to sign for something write that down in next years budget so you'll remember you'll need that allocated.

After my company was purchased by another company, and scrapped I found myself going the road of consultant. Lucrative, but unfulfilling.

That’s good advice and honestly I feel like I’m just always working on funding. Managing and securing it. My big project now is a software development task and it’s a novel approach in my industry so I’m just like banging down doors and doing pitches and demos left and right.

I have an excellent team though so it’s fulfilling to see them succeed. Every time I check progress in gitlab it’s actually fun.

What's really cool is it just fits a Hammond 1590TRPC

I'm still having a tough time deciding which BAIAB (British Amp In A Box) will go in it, as I've got other plans for a Guv'nor... I like the AC 30 idea!
AC-30 AIAB with a MayQueen treble-booster — should all fit... right?

Epiphone Coronet, my first foray into the Gibson world. I wanted a guitar with the least amount of things in it so I can just play. Strats and Jazzmasters have way too much stuff in the way and I end up playing those instead of music.

QC is awesome compared to Fender/Squier, for a mere 350 Euros. The bridge was super high but now the action is what it's supposed to be. Probably the most effortless playing guitar I've ever had.
High gear tuners, great fret ends, rolled fretboard edges, CTS pots, the nut is not perfect but luckily the nut slots are shallow so I can lower them. They're cut wide enough already and it stays in tune with bends. The screws don't strip, a major issue I have with cheap guitars.

The only issues are minor: 1) darker than I thought in most lights; 2) the pickup is too low, the hum is loud, the output isn't. Need to order shims but I guess hum will also increase; 3) Unbelievable neck dive with a strap since the button is under the last fret. Will relocate it to the upper horn, though I don't think it'll make much of a difference; Does it? 4) some static when I touch the body and plastic.

We'll see if I can live with the hum. I guess there are hum cancelling options out there. I also have super cheap Chinese cream pikcup covers coming just for giggles.
