What's in the mailbox? 📬 📦

It's frustrating when one part has been keeping a build on hold for months and there's no sign of it ever being available locally, like the dual gang C100k pots for the Electrovibe.

Tayda seems to be the only option for UV printing however. There's nothing like it in Europe for enclosures.
I got you..
PCB + solder lug, but you can make that work.

I have seen people doing UV in Europe, but it's about having private chats with local print shops who do UV prints and organising a deal.

New Pickup Day Woohoo!

These just came in the mail from Durbano Magnetics from Australia from his Christmas sale.

A pair of his '59 PAFs, these are going into my Tokai Gold Top. Raw nickel, unpotted.

And his "Big Bird" HB size Firebird pickup that will be going into my "VelaBird" that's got one of his Firebird neck pickups.
The other one is called his "Tuxedo". It's a mini-hum sized P90. Not sure which guitar this is going in quite yet but most likely my Warmoth Strat neck position.

My phoenix set is coming any day now for my baritone tele 😀😀

My demos are almost always first takes with noticeable SNAFUs but I just decided if I'm going to do demos I'm just going to be spontaneous and not waste my time trying to be slick. So my demos are rough, and recorded on my smart phone with no editing and that's what you get.

I already bought those and I don't see how I can make them work but I'll try again maybe. Very weird pots and I should've checked what I was actually buying 😃

Some diodes and ICs. Managed to get 100x UTC MC4558L for less than 20c each. I haven’t seen them used much but picked up a few last year. They’re a dual op amp with a bit less fidelity than a RC4558 to my ears. Get a nice smooth drive to them when pushed. My subjective view anyway .. I enjoy them enough to grab a deal.

where did you happen to find that nice haul!?

where did you happen to find that nice haul!?

Has a good selection of Germanium auctions ending each weekend. Nothing is tested, but it's always within specs. Can find some unusual stuff there sometimes.

I just installed the 59's in my Gold Top this evening. Man......
That’s awesome I’m super excited I found these. The more typical pickups options (lollar, fralin, porter, SD) were looking to run me $450 to $600 for a three pickup set. I got the Durbanos and pickup rings for $210!

Here's my take on the "What's In the Mail Thread" and why it matters (discussed a few pages ago, but I've been busy and not on the forum for a short spell, so I'm late to the party)...

It matters because... A good example is:

Forumite A: "I got this thing-a-mabobby in the mail..."

Forumite B: "Coolasfolk! Where!?! I'bin tryinta find that thing-a-mabobby for my build and all I could source were thing-a-ma-jigs"

Forumite A: "I got it on this LaJit eEkBay store, but whatever you do don't order from eEkFlayer PhoneyBaloney, but LaJit is legit."

Forumite B: "and ordererred — Thanks A eh?"

Forumite C: "Wow, I just got the PCB for that build, I didn't even know there was such a thang as 'thing-a-mabobby' let alone that I'd need it, or that Forumite B is Canajian. Who knew? Thanks for the heads-up."

I'm sure there are other reasons and examples I could give if I stopped to think more about it...

Maybe I should start listing out all the crap I got in my last two packages from SynthBear instead of just showing a box chock full of parts.

Well, I'm lazy. At least I'll give you the highlights: more tubes for tube pedals and...

Wah tis this? THREE SHELL MONTY? They're heavy, and way better than the lightweights from TaoBao (foreground below, for comparison only); almost as cheap as buying a broke-down used shell — but on sale and without broken worn out bits I'd say they're on par or a better deal than buying used...

Monty-time: Guess which of the three black treadles is getting a PedalPCB board…
