It worked well for the band I was in at the time, but I stopped using it in favor of a Laney. I eventually sold the Marshall since I wasn't using it and had other amps I could get that tone with if I really wanted to

Bought a broken Distortron for 30€ with shipping, I'm confident I can fix it, will have to see if I like it enough to keep it or if I'll flip it. I do like the look of it though! Not necessarily a fan of the jack arrangement (input and power on one side, output on the other), but that might not be a dealbreaker.

I traded my first diy pedal for a mastotron and I absolutely hated the jack arrangement.

It’s what I’m calling boosts I make for my friends. The first one I made is a perf board LPB-1 for his pedal steel. We’re both traditional country and honky tonk fans, and it only made sense to incorporate the WSM antenna that boosted the signal in the evenings across the country.
It’s based on this book cover that is all about the history of the station.
From the book:
“Called the Air Castle of the South, the 50,000 watt 808-ft tower broadcast to much of the Central and Eastern US. Ralph Emery, Grant Turner, Ernest Tubb, and Eddie Stubbs brought country music and the Grand Ol Opry to its listeners and became a historical legend in the process. “

All came in back on Tuesday— a long time waiting since they came from Ukraine. 100 D9K (Д9K) and 200 D9V (Д9B) diodes, and a cheap assortment of random other diodes (mostly silicon) in interesting package types.

I was surprised to discover that the mail service between countries that are at war does in fact continue, though it was obviously subject to censorship. It was possible to send letters between civilians in Nazi Germany and the western allies. Prisoners of war got mail too, though I think that was handled by the military directly rather than the postal service. I believe there were regular mail handovers in neutral countries rather than direct deliveries between at-war countries.

We hosted a family for 9 months when the fighting first started and they fled Kiev. They recently went back to visit family who have stayed. Things are getting better but it’s still a war zone.
