What's in the mailbox? 📬 📦

Since the JM is finissimo, and the pychedelic strat is rounding third...I acquired a Squier Esquire Custom, that was originally to be auctioned to fund a museum-go-round or something. It was cheap, and the double-bound burst caught my eye.

It actually arrived a few days ago; The first thing I did was peek under the pickguard to see if it was Tele-routed...nope! Then I yanked the neck, bridge, and pickup.

Today, the Babicz bridge, the Fender maple neck, and wait for it......a Ron Ellis 52T pickup arrived!

I had a set of Fender-locking on-hand so time to get busy!

I picked up another boost (you can never have too many) from Schu-Tone pedals and creator @dan.schumaker. The Swine uses a Ge transistor and offers high, mid, or full boost.
I've only tried it a few minutes in a couple of spots in a chain I'm working on, but it did a lovely job of integrating and tapping the gain @ desired frequencies.

Knowing this place is crawling with the most generous humans on the planet, I try not to abuse it by asking for stuff very often. However, when something comes up that's very cool and says butt stuff on it, I'm smashing that reply button like I'm on a game show. "Come on Butt Stuff, No Whammies!"

Thanks so much, @Paradox916! Can't wait to rip apart my arachnid and slap a sticker on my hardcase.

Also pictured, proof that I'm a franboy who's ordering the vibrobot the minute it hits the store. A couple ICL3038.

Not pictured, 32 potentiometers, mostly of slightly less common values, incorrectly ordered in long pin format. I haven't borked a parts order this bad in a long long time.

I am when I turn that thing on because It settles for nothing less. :ROFLMAO: This small room doesn't do the higher volumes all that well, but I've been known to not really care so it flushes out. (y) It does a great job at all volumes. The effects loop is solid, and it throws a decent emulation as well.

Good news everyone, I've finished the Esquire! I just dialed "I" for intonation and set the action to "near buzz" with a set of extra slinky.....like me. :ROFLMAO:

This guitar is phenomenal and Ron Ellis is my hero. I am prowling for a second helping of his windings.

I'll do a thread on these casters and get out of Will's mailbox with them (y)
