What's in the mailbox? 📬 📦

Whoever coined the phrase “Everything is bigger in Texas” must have been referring to Mouser Electronics packaging. Hard to believe (2) 8 pin dip ICs, and a dozen or so ultra low profile electrolytic caps had to ship in a shoe box sized package:
I had a few of those before. Wish they'd take a leaf out of DigiKey's book and use that fancy-cut brown paper padding and use smaller bags.

Also hilarious that they will sometimes use those black boxes INSIDE an ESD protective bag. Crazy.

Or like Cusack- his bags can be reused to mail smaller packages again.

This was this way- 2 tiny ICs in a big ring box, then shoved in a big ESD bag

Fishman Loudbox 8" replacement driver, going into an old DIY 2 way cab for my Dojo and acoustic guitar. Hopefully it'll be adequate for practicing vocals at home too:

Also have a new Wilde stacked 'bucker Strat pickup incoming for my Heritage electric. Time to build a new guitar amp, I reckon! :cool:

Big mail day
AliExpress delivered a bunch of 3386P-1 trimmers. They're nice because they have a "knob" built in. Great for breadboarding. Also a breadboard signal generator and clip in place power supply. Then below, the Gorelax magnifying headgear. Fits nice. Will see how useful it is. Will be nice for final once over checks if nothing else. Also sounds like the last laxative you'll ever take.

Also bought some old timer's cap collection off of eBay. Mainly because it had some CGW glass micas in it. Sadly, only 3 values. Anyone want a bunch of vintage ceramics? At least the cabinet made it in one piece and has all its drawers intact.

One day I'll have enough to make a truley Transparent Boost to sale to lawyers on Reverb for $500 each.

IMG_20240315_111530235.jpg Last but certainly not least, a little box full of awesome from @jessenator ! Stocked me up with all his latest boards including some hand picked transistor pairs for one! An assortment of transistors including name brand ones(we share an excitement for actual motos and fairchilds), some smd adapter boards, bat Ge diode cheater boards, and a ton more. Also a challenge to build "something" from a bag of random logic chips. Hmmm. Hopefully there's some buffers of gates to exploit in there. Enough to keep this peon busy for a while. Thanks!

Oh hell yea, nice score!!! I love that gold all over look, too.
It definitely made me thin the herd to get it. But when I saw it was still there after 6weeks, I think my wife was tired of hearing me talk about it, and she encouraged me to finally pick it up. I will say it’s the lightest Les Paul I ever played, which is good being partially-disabled due to back issues.

I love it. My wife is encouraging like that too. My first two wives, not so much. Took a while to find the right one, I guess.

REPRESENT.

These are looking really good, Will- thanks a lot!
@Harry Klippton

Still trying to streamline my build process, and I decided I spend too much time cutting and stripping wires. I still haven't tracked down a manual, and it's missing a couple parts that I'll have to 3D print, but when it's up and running the time savings will pay for itself after about 80 pedals. So two weeks or so.
