One week after I posted my new Guild guitar here one of my cats managed to drop the guitar stand and DESTROYED the paint job and almost cracked the body of the guitar. I really dont like sunburst guitars, so instead of feeling angry I decided to look at the bright side of things and got it refinished with a color I actually like. I’m really happy with the result!

I also am not a burst guy, I see this as an enormous improvement. You don't need to mourn the dollars spent.

TME and Mouser order for my amp build came in today.

Good thing I uploaded my BOM with component references for my schematic directly to Mouser. I ain't sorting that.

Well, not my mailbox—a good friend left it on my porch while I was out. He's an absolute dumpster diver, and several weeks ago sent me a picture of a few Dakaware knobs and asked if I'd like them—at which point I said, anytime you see an old knob, it's mine! I need to make an adapter for this still, it's for an 8mm shaft. But it sounds incredible at 12! I had no idea this pedal could sound like that!

I think slight mis-alignment is part of the magic of stamped lettering. That looks great!

My dad recommended “The Wager”. Amazing so far. I love nautical history books. Haven’t cracked the amp books yet but they are next in line.

Ordered fifty 072s direct from Texas Instruments, following a heads-up from @Guilherme Collateral that it's possible to do so. They reached here very quickly and DHL factored in the quite reasonable duty fee. All in, they cost about $1 each, not bad considering.

I have ordered some suspect ones from my local before with the dreaded MDSHY logo, so just wanted to be absolutely sure that these are the genuine article.



The next day my PPCB order arrived, mostly utilities for SMD work and some permanent breadboards and the correct on-on-on switch for my upcoming two tone Bender build ... saga TBC.

First Boss pedal I've had outside of the RC-2 I used to have ~a decade ago. I basically bought it just for the metallic sound heard in the beginning of Empress Rising (plus it was quite a good deal for local standards), and it sure delivers that. Interesting how the manual and depth seem to interact quite a bit for uses outside of that one specific sound, and not sure if I like the Ultra mode (with manual all the way down it might have potential). Need to delve more into the Gate part, and I believe there's also a momentary mode, maybe?

Usually it's me that slips through the gaps, but I've only had good experience with Moonn (albeit orders can take a while to be delivered).

Love their boards and what they're doing, but I do wish he could up the consistency and communication

Haven’t cracked the amp books yet but they are next in line.

My personal opinion is that they serve best as reference books; they're a bit dry if you just try to read them cover to cover. I read his Preamps book cover to cover and didn't get much out of it, but I understand it a lot better when I'm referencing it to answer a specific question.
