Black Friday sales 2022

European companies are sitting this black Friday out it seems. I have carts on Musikding and Banzai that have been languishing for months waiting for a code but none in sight.

Sorry for the rant.
I feel you, my EU brother. There are a lot of great things in Europe, but the price of pedal building ain't it!

Yeah, I noticed early on there seems to be a dearth of the BF sales. Lotsa places that used to offer deals are not doing so this year.

My wife commented the other day that there's hardly any BF deals, too, so it's not just pedal-building community doing without...

For whatever reason, Australian retailers have been going hard on Black Friday sales. Thanksgiving means zipola here, but I guess the timing appeals. A month before Xmas.

I bought a couple of PCBs from our beloved host, and have successfully resisted all other sales except: my old workboots are starting to wear out now, after many years and thousands of kms. I could probably get another year out of them, but I've been thinking about replacing them, and there was a sale...

THESE
Australian made, super comfy, and seriously the best boots I've ever owned.

I thought you were going to link to some Ug boots!

At least he's replacing the counterfeit parts before shipping.
Not all builders would have the scruples.
(I'd replace them, but I wouldn't broadcast it; I'd do it as part of everyday business practice.)

These days I only trust Mouser and Digikey to deliver legit parts
…because of these past experiences:
I've received counterfeit capacitors from Futurlec and Tayda.
I've gotten counterfeit “Texas Instruments” ICs from Jameco.

QuestComp is a fun gamble because they pool multiple distributors without knowing what they've got. I will continue gambling with QuestComp just for the sheer joy of the surprises that show up. Great customer service too.
