What's on the drawing board? 🎨🖌️

I've got several going... here's a few...

Electrovibe enclosure - this one is various licensed clipart that I've extensively recolored... which took forever on the groovy Steggo...

Steggo Rules!

I really like the Alxasaurus Fuzz. The teal feathers over the 'Rising Sun' background is a great combination.

*At one point, I had to make a conscious effort to STOP putting that background behind things because I was using it way too much.. but it works so often!

The feather is modified clip art. The finish will be sprayed lacquer, with a patina texture to give it a parchment look, but it will then get an overall gloss urethane top coat. The voltage and in/out graphics will be on the back side of the pedal, but I always draw them in at the top to I have the art. Knobs are a pale grey anodized matte aluminum (at least from their description; I haven't ordered them yet).

Very nice result of the progress made throughout the course of your design progress!
Stellar, or dare I say inter"stellar" job here @dawson. This design is incredibly appealing to the eyes and is timeless in design.
Personally, I like the second one best. The only thing that throws me off slightly (and it's minor) is the LED placement. I'm a big fan of symmetry and legibility, so I like this one more than the first. I like what you did with the graphics here and the only change I'd make would be to center the LED between the controls and nudge the middle graphics up just a hair more away from the foot switch. Nice job on this one @RetiredUnit1 !

Great thread!

I'm still on holiday, but working on some graphics. Originally planned for UV prints at Tayda, but once I get them through customs they'll end up nearly €20 an enclosure. I looked for a vinyl printing option and it looks like I can get some done locally (in Germany) onto some plain white or black enclosures for under €10 per enclosure total. Half price really makes a difference. If it works out then I'll start redoing older @MichaelW type builds as well.

Here are the current WIPs... feedback welcome!
These and the post following are all very nice designs!
Other Archibald ideas
I like both Static Scream and Mad Science best!

Very classy design and it sounds like it will look very nice when done! If I may, I'd suggest increasing font weight or size for the controls to improve legibility when printed. Length, Decay, and Atmos may be slightly difficult to read with the feather behind them.

I'm not sure how it would look in this case (or if you would even like it), but something I like to do is to add a 2-4pt expanded stroke to control texts and subtract that stroke from the background image/object to help isolate the text some.

I think this is my favorite of your designs (and I really like the overall direction you take in general). The line work communicates so much while still having a pretty heavy weight.

Thanks, Grant!
It's my favorite design of mine so I'm lucky it landed on a worthy circuit that I use all the time.
I keep trying to top it but I can't 🙃 the closest I've gotten would probably be the Florist design:

I'm super proud of this one, but it ain't no TITAN..

Archibald makes progress...

From design to etched enclosure.

Still making refinements to etching process. Taking less time, using less Ferric Chloride and getting better results.

And figured out a way to neutralize the etchant so I could dispose safely of it in the house plumbing without melting the pipes.

Very cool — please do share the neutralisation method!

the company that I used to use for all of my etching had to leave the vicinity, because a regulation change made them need to recycle their etchant waste weekly; they did small part, precision work, and typically a 55gal. drum of waste could sit for 3 or 4 months before they needed to empty it. They typically neutralized it before storage, so it was relatively inert, but still had a lot of solids, etc. in it.

Here’s their website, for people interested in their process.

You're gonna love the "Splendy" drive. The more I've been playing it today compared to the Sweet Honey and Honey Bee the more I like it the best. It's got enough gain range and eq range to cover both the other drives yet has more low end. With the gain at about 9 o'clock on my LP Special it's heavenly.
