I’ve always wanted to release a pedal and goop the circuit board while simultaneously including a fine art print of the exact schematic in the box, just as a big FU to the goop mentality
I’ve learned a few things so far trying to “design”, enclose and hopefully sell some pedals:
1.) Your shit is not special
2.) It’s probably too expensive
3.) It could look better outside
4.) It could look better inside
5.) Your shit is not special
6.) It’s still probably too expensive

A sticky thread about goop is very appropriateThis should be a sticky
nothing like pregaming builders' imposter syndrome ... even if this is absolutely correct.I’ve learned a few things so far trying to “design”, enclose and hopefully sell some pedals:

Why is the Klon an exception? The average user doesn't care and an experienced tracer can (and did) degoop it.I was thinking about this more last night.
Gooping a pedal, amongst the other beta BS that signifies, shows a total lack of common sense.
The average user doesn’t give a shit about your circuit if it sounds good so they won’t care if it’s hooped or not. They won’t even attempt to trace an ungooped circuit. They simply don’t care.
An experienced tracer can easily degoop even the most severely gooped circuit. So it’s pointless.
Which means it’s completely pointless under any circumstances and just shows what an insecure little builder you really are.
The exception is something like the Klon which really was an innovative circuit at the time.
