Love it! Offending Font build, awesome!

What I don't love is... I just ordered some PPCB stuff in the Sept 15% sale to round out some ideas/collections — didn't need it, thought of putting it off to a 20%/BlackFriday, but said what the hell — and then a week or so later Robert drops a 20% off code! ARGGGHHH...

I need to save my coin where I can, so I can order the parts for the PCBs I'm hoardering...

Ya pays yer money and ya takes yer chances!

Well, a plentiful plethora of powerful pulchritudinous PPCB boards has finally arrived.

Actually, these were stuck at our local post office for quite a while while I amassed parts for these and others on order. Took a quick visit to sort this out, but for once I had all the requisite parts in stock before the boards showed up (except those which I have overlooked, naturally).

The list:

Byzantium*
CDXL reissue filter*
Equilux Mini
General Tso*
Hydra faceplate
2 x MOSFET driver
NE-1
Protoboard Micro*
Rangefinder*
2 x Repro Fuzz
Tweed Man (first for building, since I have a pre-drilled enclosure for it at hand)
Unicab

Once again, my grateful thanks to our esteemed constituents @fig and @Robert for the generous prize in the recent competition (boards marked with asterisks).

These should keep me busy for a while at least :giggle:

I’ve used some of the lower gain ones as Q1 and Q2 of a Tone Bender Mk. III, and liked them a lot for that. On the breadboard, I’ve used some in a Spaceman Sputnik II (hFE 73, 86, 88), Fuzz Face (hFE 90, 127), and a modified Tone Bender Mk. II (forgot the hFEs but I did add bias resistors to the bases). They sounded great in all of them. I’d feel confident dropping them in any circuit that calls for low leakage PNP germaniums.
For the mk iii is the leakage just too low for q3. I tests 22 last night median hfe of 111. None of them were above 5ma for leakage though.

Correct. I think my earlier post suggested using them for Q1 and Q2 for a Mark 3, which work well with low leakage devices, not Q3, which needs to be pretty leaky. I used a very leaky 3AX31C for Q3 in my build.

ah thank you. Be nice if they listed in these eBay one these ones are higher leakage. I’d buy 20 of something with a higher leakage but most of these Russian things I’m guessing are low.

There are some leakier Soviet transistors out there—off the top of my head the GT115, GT321, and GT403 families are all high leakage (anywhere from 150µA to 1mA, but typically closer 150 and 400 µA). Depending on how much leakage you need, you might want to try some transistors from the MP20 and MP21 families, which tend to be in the 50-100µA range, with a few exhibiting leakage as high as 200µA.

Sorry last question do you know which of those would be in the 100-150 hfe range most likely
