What's in the mailbox? 📬 📦

I’ll do you one better. Married a girl who doesn’t like rings at all. Got married on a sidewalk in front of a giant dinosaur. No rings required.

I didn’t even think you were messing with me! I thought you just really liked ugly tuners!
And apparently I do like ugly tuners.

So forever being a sucker for cheap crap that doesn’t work. Today I picked up a bugera 333 that shockingly enough wouldn’t turn on. Guy stated he hadn’t even checked the fuse yet was in a storage unit auction. Had all the tubes 4-6l6gc and 4 12ax7. Figured for the 40$ worst case I’d get some tubes out of the deal.

Idk why this thing won’t turn on (besides the fact there was no fuse in it)

Well I decided to clean up the board with some rubbing alcohol and check it all out.

I also didn’t have a 5x20 3 amp fuse, but I did have a 6x30. And we end up with this to test it.

I had to kind of doctor up that burned area and basically make my own trace out of some wire and solder. I’m sure it’s safe lol. I just wanted to make sure it turned on and passing signal. Lo and behold it does.

I’ll fix it up appropriately tomorrow after getting the fuse. Although I’m not sure I trust this thing to not do that again.

Oops this was supposed to be in the what’s on your work bench thread.

FYI I don't think it's useful since it probably was just an issue in the early revisions (and then might have just been on the 626x ones and not the 333's, although I think they came out at the same time), but I had a very early 6262 and it had a common issue where some sort of power (?) connection to the PCB was made with a plastic part which eventually melted and shorted out, blowing the fuse. I assume yours didn't have that issue or you would have spotted it (or something bad would have happened once you turned it on without a fuse), but might be worth checking out.

I don't remember any of the details since it was like 15 years ago and I didn't know anything about electronics (still don't), but the amp repair guy charged me less because the tip was good and saved him some troubleshooting time.

I ended up using a fuse in the fender style amp holder and just Jimmy rigging it in there to see if the amp was functional. Yea there’s a bunch of stuff out there on the power connection. Amos made for as cheap as possible who knew lol.

I finally received my Musikding order:

Parasit Into the Unknown, Aion's Minima,
The green one is a green ringer, and the PPCB boards are Copper Clad, Irrlicht, Sour Grape and Ionizer2.

I also bought some colored enclosures, and a couple of plastic ones.
Not pictured, a bunch of knobs and a new set of Cool audio 3207 and 3102 for my noisy Caesar with BL chips

35mm SLR for my analog black & white photography class. Was recommended the Nikkormat FT-series by the analog folks in a big photography discord community. Need to learn how to operate this thing– it’s apparently got a pretty unusual configuration for adjusting shutter speed and all that fun stuff. Not even sure how to test it, so I guess I’ll wait to ask my professor on Monday to make sure everything is working as it should.
