Well I'm going to make my own Peavey-pedal! WITH BLACKJACK and HOOKERS!

Ahhh ... Screw the Blackjack, and the hookers ...

... WITH F800B and HOTFOOT !

I HAVE a Big Game CVLT F800B-pre PCB I'll pair with a clone of the Peavey HOT FOOT (built on a Rat-clone PCB).

a Peavey with blackjack and hookers is the Peavey Deuce

When are we gonna get the same treatment for Crate amps? Blue voodoo stomper?
Wasn't the Blue Voodoo absolutely awful? I've not played one but I have heard that they're just a harsh shrilly mess.
Peavey VTM and Butcher heads:
This is too cool. I'm always on the lookout for a good condition Butcher or Supreme. I'll add a VTM to the search list.

I used to find all kinds of perfectly good peavey stuff just sitting on the side of road. I have one as my garage bass amp, I don't even know what model it is. All the stuff with black widow speakers are the real keepers.

All the mention of Peavey bass amps reminded me that my only gear selling regret was getting rid of my Rickenbaker bass and Peavey Mark III(?) amp. At some point I decided I didn't want a bass to take attention away from guitar, so I sold it off.

Those Ricks went up in value 4-5x since I sold it, and are now priced way beyond what I'd spend for a bass (and they're super cool).

The Peavey not so much, but it was part of the pair.

Perfectly good peavey stuff … I didn’t know you could put those words in that order without your pants catching fire

When I started gigging in the '80s those Peavey bass combos with the single 15" speaker were pretty good. I'm sure there are plenty of far better options these days but for a small original band with limited resources they were actually pretty decent. The guitar amps not so much.

And did someone mention Gorilla? https://aionfx.com/project/positron-preamp-drive/

I used to work in a music store and had to sell Gorilla amps sometimes. Easily the worst sounding amps I have ever tried. Just tragic.

I used to keep a Bandit and a TNT at our practice space so I wouldn’t have to carry my heavy Ampeg up and down stairs. They worked pretty well.

Love the new pedals. Also very interested in the “Musician” amp they mention in this video

With all the new amp modeling pedals, I’m surprised it’s taken this long for someone to put a line level channel on the front of the amp.

A friend of mine in high school had a blue stripe bandit for his “jam” amp (he’d leave his 5150 at home…). It didn’t sound good. But it wasn’t bad. Not at all. A bandit 20, compressor, od, and distortion stacked would be totally usable. Like all good solid state amps, the Bandit gives you an honest tone. Your gonna have to tweak it, but the point is you’ll be able to.

Great starter gear in its day. My TNT ...man I wish I'd kept it actually, but maybe that's nostalgia talking. was a hulk, though not as heavy as my ampeg cab.

I had a Classic 30 for a while. A friend had a quad box and sometimes I'd play the Classic 30 through his Marshall quad and it sounded huge.

But I'm glad nothing ever went wrong with it. I can't imagine how they came up with how to make them. They were an amp destined to fail and be a nightmare to repair. I honestly don't understand how they could come up with such a convoluted and downright flimsy way to build an amp.
