Southland

I don't think Greer is gooping stuff anymore, none of the newer ones I've seen have been gooped that I recall. (Soma, Royal Velvet, Black Mountain, Mizuki)

That's encouraging. I'll take it as a hopeful sign that there are still people who can change for the better.

Awesome build/graphic, great colour-palette.

This inspired me to check out the circuit and it is indeed ssssooooho close to the Lightspeed — apart from the op-amp, a 4PDT on-on toggle could swap between the two circuits:
POLE 1: A1M DRIVE with switched 500k across it, gets the Lightspeed 500k
POLE 2: A250k VOL with switched 180k across it, gets super close to the LS' 100k
POLE 3: switch in 2xBAT41 anti-parallel to VREF; could be on a separate toggle with a third set of clippers
POLE 4: gain resistor on IC1.2 swappable between Southland's 22k and Lightspeeds 4k7.

4PDT could be a stomper, to make the changes and to swap between separate VOL pots for a "2-channel" build...

It's so close but sounds so different. I did not like the Southland stock. Which is why I modded mine with Ge clippers. The Lightspeed is still my #1 go to low gainer.

I really like this idea. Can we get a PCB like that, @Robert ? 😁

You and me both, brother. I use it always-on for clean tones (gain below noon) and the second stage of gain stacks.

The first time I plugged it in, I tried it straight to amp as a typical OD. I thought I'd never use it. Boy was I wrong about that.
