Spanner Wrench?

Does anybody use one of these for guitar switches? I used pliers once and scratched my pick guard .

I bought some cheap thin wrenches. They are basically stamped sheet metal so you aren't going to torque a head with it but handy for pedals and guitars. Nice for innie DC jacks too.
I never cared for spanners. They feel like more of a safety net to keep in your gigbag rather than a quality tool.

Looks like the 14mm Rocket Socket fits the toggle nut on my Epiphone SG.

They make “soft touch/soft jaw” pliers in various sizes/styles.
But I just keep a pair of channel locks with tape wrapped around the jaws, for odd tasks that the sockets won’t work for.

I'd tape it inside the pickguard/cavity and replace with a vanilla hexagonal type that I can tighten in the wild.

I have the music nomad one for the toggle switch on my SG - haven't used it yet. In the past I used pliers and was careful. A luthier who helped me with another guitar has the tool Robert linked, and was using it on another SG while I was at his shop a while back. He liked it.

I'm not endorsing this product, just linking to it as an example.
I have a set of pliers with hard plastic faces that I use for tightening such rings.

but it's much cheaper than that $45 StewMac tool
and sometimes I also use regular pliers with a piece of silicone plastic or leather around the metal ring.

I bought one of those spanner wrenches. I think I used it once on an amp. It's nice to have when you need it, but hasn't proven to be essential yet.

Personally I use this quite a bit. It used to just sit on my bench and never get used but once I started using it I liked it and use it frequently. I think mine was like 6 bucks when I got it. It’s good for getting under knobs and popping them off as well.
