Why did I buy these 2SC1815's?

Hey folks.

I bought some 2SC1815's off ebay a week ago and for the life of me I can't remember what circuit I bought them for. I know I came across a schematic in the last week or two that caught my attention, but searching through my browser history I can't find any evidence of circuits that call for a 2SC1815.

So can any of you think of any circuits that call for it?

Better yet, does someone have an Excel doc of all the PPCB build docs?

Thanks, as always!

Did you try a search on the forum? Lots of hits for that part. Maybe you'll see a reference to something that's in your build queue.

my favourite use of 2SC1815 recently was with a vero build of a super-fuzz.

the good news is - the PedalPCB Uber Fuzz, while designed for 2SC828 - has the same pinout as 2SC1815 🤟

then there's the TS variants - these all use 2SC1815:

Just built an Oxide Distortion (Mostortion) which also uses these - I highly recommend it. It is kind of another TS variant in a way, depending on how you mod it (C5 value primarily). I put 100nf in there instead of 220nf, it works pretty well for tighter high gain.

What HamishR said.

I searched my HD and got hits from Boss, Ibanez/Maxon, Pearl, Guyatone, Tokai, Yamaha...
but also Fulltone, Xotic (not sure where Xotic hales from), Landgraff Dod, Mesa Boogie,

Projects with 2SC1815 got hits from Aion, DEFX, Effects Layouts, Fuzz Dog, GGG, MadBean, PedalPCB...

It is indeed an Ibanez pedal I'm trying to recreate, but not one that ever got a lot of love in the marketplace. I still have an original but I'm looking to strip down the schematic to just the absolutely necessary components to make the sound I use it for. If I can do that I'll just have some PCB's of my own made and build a few.
