New shop space - a WIP

That's a nice little space there, almost reminds me of my own. Also sorry to inquire here to Bean, but any idea when the shop will be updated. Wanted to snag a total recall, and an aquababy but wanted to wait till they were both in stock to grab.

Most everything has been put away and the worktable is finally clear. This is temporary until I build the actual big arsed table next month.

Guitars and basses in their spot.

I found this cool table on Market place. Butcher block with metal legs priced at basically cost for what it would take me to put it together. So, now it is the synth table.

Today was final hookup day. With the last bit of $$ I had on my Amazon GC (plus some of my money) I upgraded the main PC monitor to a 27" curved one, with 240Hz refresh rate. Very pleased with it so far. I will probably replace the right one with the same when funds allow next year.

Got the Motu and Tascam monitors up and running for the first time in 2 years!

Finally, got my Kenwood rec'r and Vega speaker hooked up for the first time in about 3 years (I've had that setup since '92). I ended up taking the Kenwood apart b/c the right channel wasn't working. Some contact cleaner and solder re-flow fixed it. I still need to replace the foam surrounds on the speaker. I also hooked up the subwoofer for the stereo for the first time. Blew my wife's hair back with some STP :) She was impressed.

Now, it's back to full-time work next week. Finally.

BTW: I super hate this cheap Samsung phone I have. My Pixel took way better photos. But, it is in cell phone Hell now.

Is that a reissue Princeton amp over there?

Nice, I picked one of those up over the summer. I’m really digging it. I dropped a WGS veteran 30 in it, sounds great.

Yeah, I like it a lot. I've got some Spragues to replace the Chicago Elec. caps in there. Plus a couple orange drops. Just haven't gotten around to it.

Have you modded the tone stack yet? I keep thinking I’m going to, so it bypasses the Bassman style stack.

When I first got it, it was too bassy. So, I shorted the 18k stopper resistor on the bass control to turn it down further. But, it's really broken in now so I think I can remove that mod. Haven't done anything else to it yet.

Yeah, that’s what I’ve heard, too. Being almost completely deaf and no longer being able to hear bass frequencies, I haven’t really experienced that, but I know it’s there.

A bit of a failure to report: I had a really nice but old Samsung monitor whose CFL lighting had failed. Today I attempted to repair and replace it with LED backlights but I f#cked it up completely. Couldn't get it back together and I scratched the display very badly in the process. Bit bummed. I hate wasting electronics.
