What's on the workbench?

OK, question for the acoustic guitar players... (no, this is not like cable TV amnesty week)

Is this weird form factor desirable? Jacks on all sides, pots sticking out the sides, etc....

Mandolin?! You didn't say nothin about no mandolin.

The deals off, forget everything.

That's a very good question, and I'm not sure what the answer is. I don't mind side jacks at all (here come the bottles...), but the two pots on the sides are a bit odd. I think they figured people would be really mashing that "boost" button on top and wanted to protect the knobs...?

I think a PPCB-style revamp would be well-received! It's less about the form factor for the Red-Eye, and more that it helps weak piezo pickups shine (as best they can) in a way most other preamps don't. Pretty limited EQ, but still.

No. Might be good for if you keep it on a belt pack or something, but even then I think it’s kinda a suboptimal form factor.

Look, there's a happy little exformer in there! 😂

I get the input on the bottom, and loop on one side and XLR on the other - it makes sense as it kinda says plug in and we'll do the rest....
I wonder if version 1 the knobs were at the top and then someone came and asked to fit a battery in it... - it's kinda daft.
fair few transistors and diodes in that!
