    Frost Drive

I finished up my build a few days a go, and have had any chance to play with the many settings. Overall the build was straight forward, and the pedal worked straight off the workbench without the need for debugging, which always make me happy. The one hiccup I had was that 4 of the pots I got...

    Modus Operandi

This was a straight forward build. I should have looked closer at the size of the electrolytic, but I got them to fit. I've only played through it a few times, but so far I like. I used hammer stencils, but they are hard to read. The boost is transparent, and does a great job pushing my Fillmore...

    Boss FS-5U Wiring Diagram

Hi all. I'd like to build a Boss FS-5U style footswitch to control my RC-10R, but surprisingly have not been able to find a wiring diagram online. The closest I've found is this, but I'd prefer to build it without the switches and I'm not clear to what is needed. I'm pretty sure this will be an...

    What's your favorite PPCB Boost?

I've been running my Filmore 25 at the edge of breakup, and I'm looking for good boost pedal to push the amp. Ideally something that will play well with humbuckers and single coils, as well TS type pedals.

    Octarock additional switches

I love my Octarock and the only thing that could make it better would be separate switches to control octave up and octave down. There is no schematic so I'm not sure how to proceed. Anyone have ideas?

    50s wiring

I'd like to attempt to take out a treble bleed, and redo the wiring to 50s wiring. Can I use the stranded 22 awg teflon wire I use in my pedals, or is there something else I should pick up?

    Low Tide Mini, Whine

Unbelievably everything seems to fit, and it makes a sound, but there is a constant high pitch whine, that only goes away if the Level is turned up about 2/3 of the way. At this point the whine goes away, there is a noticeable drop in volume, and it becomes much more distorted. This also happens...

    4148 vs IN4148

They say there is no such thing as a stupid question but there are plenty of inquisitive idiots. I'm work on my order list for a couple of projects and on the the PyroCumulus Fuzz the PCB calls for both 4148 and IN4148. I thought they were the same thing, but please educate me...

SOLVED Can I save my Low Tide Mini build?

I'm half way putting the resistors in when my iron wouldn't transfer heat no matter how much I cleaned and tinned it and I ended up scratching the board. Is there a way to salvage the board and does this mean I should change my soldering tip? The problem area is circled in red.

    Amp Switcher

Finally I pedal that's so simple there is no way I could screw it up! Well the first hole I drilled was to close to the thread channel and the jack wouldn't fit. At least I don't need any trouble shooting once I got it assembled. Not much else to say other than it changes my amp's channel in a...

    Chop Shop and Sandspur

I got these finished last weeks and am very happy with both of them. In some respects, the Sandspur is like a higher gain version of the Chop Shop with the Sag and Sundial having a similar function. Sandspur: I used BC109B and Amperex A104 transistors for this. I ended up biasing it by ear with...

    SOLVED Chop Shop Biasing

I just finished boxing up the my Chop Shop, and I'm having some trouble biasing the jfets. I have my multimeter on this setting: Putting the black probe on the threads of a screw hole, and touching the red probe on the biasing pad, with the sag all the way CCW I get 3.3-4.9 volts on Q1, and...

    Octarock

Wow, what a great circuit. The build was straight forward, other than missing a part on my mouser order, and this is the first pedal in a while that didn't require significant troubleshooting. After putting everything together, it was a little noisy and I didn't get any octave up. I opened up...

    2 Lead D/C innie jack Cathode/Anode?

I got a bunch of these innie jacks that only have two leads. Can anyone help me figure out which is the cathode and which is the anode? TIA

Low profile 1 uf film capacitor for Low Tide Mini

I am working on sources parts for a Low Tide Mini and I'm having trouble finding a 1 uF (non-polar) capacitor less than 7 mm in height. Can I use this tantalum capacitor or can they only be used in place of electrolytics?

    Low Tide Mini BOM check

    I just got a Low Tide Mini board that I'm planning to build and I put together this BOM based on what's printed on the board. Can someone verify this for me? Hopefully this will be useful for others. Resistors 100K 13x 10K 13x 12K 1x 16K 2x 1K 6x 1K8 2x 1M 2x 220K 3x 2K2 8x 2M 2x 330R 1x 3K3 5x...

    Trimmer for Chop Shop

I'm putting a Chop Shop board together and the build doc calls for 2 50k 3362P type trimmers (3 leads) which I have but the board has 5 holes for each of the trimmers. Will mine work, or do I need to order something different?

    AionFX Achilles

This was supposed to be half of a double pedal but I ran into enough problems that I decided to simplify and put each in their own enclosure. I used BAS33 diodes and it think it sounds great. I really like it set on low drive stacked with a Tube screamer after. I have the mids dip switch on...

    Octarock diodes

I am working on building an Octarock and I'm up to diodes. The BOM calls for BAT41 but the board is printed BAT46. I bought Bat41, will they work? Also the BOM has 2x 2N5457 but the board is printed with just one and one MPSA13, can I use 2N5457 for both?

    How to clean enclosure threads

I got a drilled and painted enclosure from Tayda that I just can't get the screws for the cover in. I tried cleaning the paint, but it goes pretty deep into the hole. Anyone have some tips on how to clear the threads?
